“This is me. I’m Marta, I’m from Florence, or actually from Sesto Fiorentino, the town where Pinocchio was born! After living a couple of years in London and after sailing the ocean on a cruise ship to follow my juvenile dream of becoming a sailor (that’s no lie, I swear!) I ended up back in my hometown to be close to my family and I now live with a boyfriend, two adorable baby bunnies and hundreds of souvenirs from the world.

I love travelling in any way. I love cooking international recipes, I love celebrating festivals, from Diwali to Thanksgiving to Chinese New Year, I love reading and then following in the steps of the characters of these books, such as Odysseus, Agatha Christie, Don Quixote, whether they are real or not! And of course, I love travelling for real, so much so that I even love packing suitcases and filling Excel sheets with detailed itineraries, either for me or for our clients at Travel by Luxe!

My most cherished memories come from my travelling experiences, so I’m happy to help other people create their own. And I find the world is simply beautiful, so I’m happy to be able to help other travellers find out just how much.”

“An Italian based in Milan - traveller, photographer and ocean lover. I am originally from a town in the centre of Italy in Le Marche region. I lived in London for 8 years, with a break of 1 year in Melbourne.

My exploits across 40+ countries have led me from skydiving in Australia, trekking in the Italian and Swiss Alps, sleeping in an overwater bungalow in French Polynesia, snorkelling with sharks and turtles in the open ocean off the coast of Hawaii, yachting the Greek islands, and so much more.

Have I mentioned that I really love to travel!? It's the love for travel that led me to a career as a travel designer. Being a travel designer was always my desire!! It’s a dream for me. “I’m a dynamic 24-year-old, born in Rome and raised by the beautiful Lake Maggiore in northern Italy, just 1 hour away from Milan. The natural beauty around me has always inspired my love for travel and exploration. I’ve always been passionate about tourism, which led me to pursue a degree in the field. After the pandemic, I decided to specialize as a travel agent and right after I decided to make a change and move to Spain. I spent four months there, working as an au pair, learning the language, and immersing myself in the country’s rich culture.

When I returned to Italy, I found the perfect opportunity with Travel by Luxe, and I’ve been working there for the past three years. Over the last two years, I’ve had the chance to travel extensively, visiting cities like Paris, Rome, Naples, New York, Lisbon, London, and more. One of our favourite things about what we do is getting the opportunity to visit some breathtaking locations, and we were recently lucky enough to visit Pompeii. For those that don’t know, Pompeii was a thriving Roman city that was buried in ash from a violent eruption of Mount Vesuvius. You can see Mount Vesuvius in the background of this photo. The layers of ash helped preserve buildings and artwork and today you can walk through these well preserved streets, houses, and public buildings
