We’ve spent the last 3 weeks talking about some classic Italian dinners, so we thought this week we would look at breakfast instead!

A common start to a day in Italy can be with a Cappuccino, a famous coffee that originated in Northern Italy. Cappuccino is often paired with pastries such as croissants or cornetti. If you really want to feel Italian, you shouldn’t order a Cappuccino after 11am, as it is associated as a breakfast drink.

It’s important to start the day with a good breakfast before you spend your day exploring some of the best sights in Italy! We’d recommend you trying some authentic Italian coffee with a pastry of your choosing.

Risotto is one of Italy's most famous dishes, especially celebrated in the northern regions.

Unlike traditional rice dishes, where rice is boiled, risotto is prepared using a special cooking method. The rice is sautéed briefly in butter or olive oil, often with onions, and then gradually cooked by adding hot broth, a ladle at a time, until it reaches a creamy consistency.

Eating risotto in Italy allows you to experience the dish in its purest and most authentic form.

We spoke about pizza last Tuesday, so the only way we could follow that up this week was with pasta!

When you eat pasta in Italy, you're tasting authentic dishes that are prepared in the traditional way, using locally sourced ingredients and methods passed down through generations.

Each region in Italy has its own specialties, meaning you'll experience something unique depending on where you go. Pictured below is Cacio e pepe, a cheese and pepper pasta dish from the Lazio region.

Don’t pay for water in Rome!

Rome can get very hot if you’re visiting in the summer months, so it’s really important to stay hydrated. But did you know that you can get free water all over Rome? Throughout Rome, you’ll find hundreds of public drinking fountains called "nasoni", which are easily recognizable by their distinctive curved spouts ). These fountains constantly flow with cold, drinkable water sourced from the same springs that supplied ancient Rome!

Just bring a bottle with you and you can refill your water bottle as you go!

One of the best things about a vacation in Italy is getting to try the world famous Italian food! That’s why for every Tuesday this month, we’re going to talk to you about some of the most popular authentic Italian dishes.

We simply had to start with pizza! In our opinion, pizza in Italy is the best in the world! Pictured below is a Neapolitan pizza, which means pizza from Naples, the birthplace of pizza.

A true Neapolitan pizza has just a few toppings, usually fresh tomato sauce, mozzarella di bufala (buffalo mozzarella), fresh basil, and a drizzle of olive oil. The emphasis is always on the quality of the ingredients, rather than overloading the pizza with toppings.

TREVI FOUNTAIN, ROME

Do you know the story of throwing coins into the Trevi Fountain?

It has become a tourist attraction to throw a coin or multiple coins with your right hand over your left shoulder, into the Trevi Fountain. The belief is that:

If you throw one coin, you will return to Rome
If you throw two coins, you will fall in love.
If you throw three coins, you will marry the person you met

It couldn’t really work, could it? If you are in Rome, put the theory to the test! What have you got to lose?

London is indeed a city where the past and present converge beautifully. You'll find traditional pubs right next to chic cocktail bars, offering a taste of both worlds.

The city's deep-rooted history stands proudly against a backdrop of modern skyscrapers, creating a unique contrast. The city buzzes with the energy of its 8.6 million inhabitants, an energy you can feel whether you're navigating the Underground or taking a leisurely walk along the River Thames.
With its luxurious shopping centers and the stately Buckingham Palace, London presents a wide range of sights to explore.

Visit the Westminster Abbey with our expert guides, you can get inside before most of the crowds show up! As you wander through its jaw-dropping, gothic nave, your guide will tell you the story of its rich and tumultuous history, pointing out all the historical details packed into every surface and corner.

Whether you are a devotee of English history or just love a great story, this is one of the most compelling buildings in the UK.
Go to the other side of St. James's Park, and see an impressive guard changing; that of the Queen's Life Guard.

Head down to the Thames to enjoy a scenic river cruise with City Cruises, past landmarks like the London Eye, St. Paul's Cathedral, the Shard and the Gherkin. The most iconic of them all is the Tower Bridge, which you'll walk across as your guide gives you the surprising history of this iconic sight (hint: it's not as old you might think).

While London is often thought of as a city with more rain than shine, you'll be surprised to know that it actually enjoys quite a few sunny days, especially from May to August! However, it's always wise to be prepared for a sudden shower, as heavy rain can come unexpectedly at any time of the year.

Our tour is designed to immerse you in the rich traditions and history of London, offering unique experiences and insights that go beyond the typical tourist path!

POMPEII

Visiting Pompeii is like stepping into a time machine and going back 2,000 years. Pompeii was once a busy city located in what is now southern Italy. In 79AD, this ancient city was destroyed by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and vanished in a blanket of ash.

Visiting Pompeii offers a unique glimpse into Roman life. The layers of ash helped preserve buildings and artwork and today you can walk through these well preserved streets, houses, and public buildings. It’s like a real life museum where you can explore and imagine what life was like nearly 2,000 years ago. The ruins tell fascinating stories about daily life, culture, and history.

It's a unique experience that you won't find anywhere else.

Barcelona is Spain's second largest city, with a population of nearly two million people, and the capital of Catalonia. A major port on the northeastern Mediterranean coast of Spain, Barcelona has a wide variety of attractions that bring in tourists from around the globe. The many faces of Barcelona include the medieval Old Town, and the unique street grid resulting from 19th-century urban planning.
The city has long sandy beaches and green parks on the hills, pretty much side-by-side. It is also famous for a number of prominent buildings, of which the most-known are by the architect Antonio Gaudi, including his Sagrada Família, which became Barcelona's symbol to many.
Founded more than 2,000 years ago as the ancient Roman town Barcino, Barcelona is as historic as it is modern, with a constant flow of projects changing the face of the city and long-standing penchant for design and innovation.
Thanks to the wealth of attractions, a very well-developed accommodation base, a lively nightlife and a robust transportation system, Barcelona has become one of Europe's, and pretty much the world's, most popular tourist destinations.
