Aren’t Italian nonna’s the best?!?! This little Italian grandmother is out there giving high-fives and supporting the runners during the Ravenna Marathon this past Sunday.
Here is a story from this weeks storm that has not received a lot of attention. A fire broke out in the port of Savona. Over 1,000 brand new cars waiting to be exported were destroyed. The majority of them being Maserati’s!!!
There are numerous working theories as to the start of the fire which is still being investigated. But one of the leading theories is that Maserati uses lithium batteries that have a discharge capacity 30-40 times a normal battery. With the storm surge that led to the cars not only being flooded but pushed all over the place, it is possible that there was a thermochemical reaction with the seawater.
Definitely a sad day for all of the car fanatics out there! 😞
This is what lunch looked like yesterday during the “aqua alta” or high waters in Venice. Citizens are alerted to dangerous conditions whenever the water raises by more than 43 inches (110 centimeters). Yesterday’s waters reached 61 inches (156 centimeters)! In recorded history, this is only the 6th time that the waters have surpassed 59 inches (150 centimeters)!!! In recent years the situation has become an ever growing concern. This decade (and we still have 2 years to go) has seen more tides that have broken 47 inches (119 centimeters) than any other decade since the 1870’s! 😞
Isn’t this beautiful?!?! It doesn’t get any fresher than this! #EVOO #Tuscany
