Discovering Molise Wines

Molise is a small and lesser-known region in Italy, but its wines are well worth exploring. One of the most famous wines from Molise is Tintilia, a red wine made from the indigenous Tintilia grape. Tintilia is known for its deep red color, full-bodied flavor, and aromas of red fruit and spice.

Molise is an understated region that's just waiting to be discovered, and the wines of Molise are no exception. The small region packs around 5,500 hectares (13,590 acres) of vineyards sprawled in hilly, mountainous terrain, and red grapes represent two-thirds of the wine production. Molise shares with the neighboring territories of Abruzzo, Puglia, and Campania, such as Trebbiano, Falanghina, Montepulciano ,Sangiovese, and Aglianico, but also has an indigenous red grape called Tintilia, which is protected by as special DOC. The other two DOCs are those of Biferno and Pentro, which include whites, rosés, and reds.

Today we will talk about one of my favorite wine cellars of Molise .. and there are many ..
The vignaron, the territory, the vineyard
If wine was one of the most important signs of civilization for Hemingway, for Claudio Cipressi it’s giving value to the land where he was born – Molise.
Molise is a beautiful region with a unique landscape. It is largely uncontaminated and the vineyards have great potential, which is why Claudio cultivates 16 hectares with enthusiasm.
The native grape vines he grows now include: 12 Molise Tintilia, 1,5 Montepulciano,
about 1 Falanghina and 0.5 Trebbiano.
Between clouds and hills
San Felice del Molise, a timeless place where rhythms are still linked to a pristine nature. A thousand-year-old historical context immersed in the traditions and culture of doing, between perched countries and fairy-tale scenery.
It is here, at almost 600 meters high, that we cultivate our vineyards and produce our wine, every day with the same intensity and care as ever.
