At the end of .0 there was the possibility to go on either of three technical EXCURSIONS related to sustainable water, olive oil and wine production. The “water tour” was organized for learning how to produce energy in a sustainable way at Hydroelectric Power Plant of Riva del Garda and by the waterfalls of beautiful Cascata del Varone. Another technical “oil tour” was made at an olive oil factory (Cantina frantoio Agraria Riva del Garda) where field experts outlined the main strategies for sustainable olive oil production. A third group made a “wine tour” to learn about sustainable grape and wine production in the Sarca valley where the wine is made of Nosiola grapes, which are left to dry on special wooden racks. During the wine tour there was also a visit to Drena Castle from where one could admire the view and the vineyards of the area. All excursions concluded with a dinner at Cantina Toblino, which also marked the end of .0. Thanks to all participants for a wonderful week at Riva del Garda!

Thanks to Trentino catering and Riva del Garda FiereCongressi we have avoided food waste within a “Food for Good” project during .0. Thanks to this initiative, the surplus food from the meals during the conference has been delivered to charitable organizations such as family homes, soup kitchens and refugee centers. In total, we have donated: 15 kg of bread, 6 kg of desserts, 73 kg of first courses (pasta or rice), 12 kg second courses (meat, fish and cheese) and 15 kg of side dishes! Moreover, to fully apply to .0 we have provided all delicious meals with local ingredients.

We are soon closing the scientific sessions of .0 and before the excursions start let us be grateful for all interesting talks, discussions, interesting meetings and new friendships we have had during the week. THANK YOU to all participants and to everyone involved in the organization of the event. Thanks to all volunteers and sponsors.
