Many people love the Mediterranean for its beaches, others for its culture, and some for winding down and doing absolutely nothing. But there is one very specific holiday activity that arguably unites us all: the promise of a well-deserved, sunset-hour aperitif. After a day of water sports, a visit to a historic town, or just hours spent lazing by the pool, nothing beats a post-shower Aperol Spritz or Negroni, accompanied by olives, cheese, charcuterie and marinated anchovies, and shared with friends and family. All while watching the hypnotic spectacle of the sun melting into the sea. It's a promise!

The philosophy of Villa Flavia is the one that has always been linked to our work too: Sicily in everything with contemporary and old design elements. It has allowed me to express my art, exactly as I do with a piece of decorations: history, memory and natural materials. It was a conservative restoration project. The bedrooms are inspired by the elements of the surrounding landscape. I love most and use in my inspiration. Villa Flavia has been conceived by me, a home designer, as a colourful and ingeniously inventive homage to Sicilian artistry and craftsmanship. The original features and floors of the property have been retained wherever possible, and furnishings, fabrics and fittings are a fascinating mix of the contemporary and the traditional. Outside, a beautiful garden wraps around the property, culminating in a moresque style and irresistible pool.

HOLIDAY STARTS here! After breakfast on the terrace, looking out over the sparkling blue sea, you head to your airy room with calming views. Breaking for a coffee and a dip in the pool, you finish up your morning’s work and join your family for a shady al fresco lunch. In the afternoon, there are plans to go to the beach, and the evening promises a moonlit dinner in a seafront restaurant. ☀️🥂🍽

It’s the end of the high season in the Mediterranean, and a more laid-back, second-summer vibe is on the horizon in Sicily. The leaves on the vines will turn red and gold and villages will celebrate with food and wine festivals. Everyone’s invited.

It is a unique emotion to watch the popular procession which, on the night of July 14th, starts from the Cathedral and reaches the Foro Italico through the Cassaro, following a path full of references to the agony that culminates with the joyful celebration of life, with the show of fireworks. At the head, the Archbishop of Palermo and the Mayor lead the whole city which comes alive to pay homage to the Saint, joining an increasingly impressive procession.

The center of the procession is the sumptuous vessel-shaped cart that bears the statue of the Saint and is built year after year. It is a veritable traveling stage, ten meters high and almost as long, transported by oxen (in the seventeenth century it seems they were even elephants!) and richly decorated with roses, angels, cherubs, newts, between pure gold and baroque. All around, the city itself puts on a show: dances, daring choreographies, plays of light, and the punctual cry Viva Palermo e Santa Rosalia!

On 15 July the relics of the Saint are carried in a procession in a silver urn and masses are celebrated in her honor, until the return to the cathedral with the blessing of the Archbishop of Palermo.

Sicilian Itineraries.
Spend the day at the beautiful coastal suburb of Mondello.
The nearest beach to the Historical Center is located in Mondello, a suburb of Palermo.

Traditionally the summer residence of the wealthy Palermitans, Mondello has now become the hangout spot of choice for local youth who flock to the beach in droves in the summer months!
Mondello is home to one of the few sandy beaches in Sicily, as well as beautiful Liberty villas (the Italian version of Art Nouveau) and a great rooftop bar overlooking the sea (the Charleston).
Choose to lounge around on the free beach or buy a ticket for a lido, which includes the use of a sun lounger and umbrella for the day, which is a lot more comfortable.

BAGHERIA (Pa)
Arco Azzurro.
Confiscato alla mafia, l’Arco Azzurro del litorale di Aspra viene riconosciuto bene ambientale. Una finestra sul mare che si apre dalla costa di Santa Flavia a quella di Aspra, passando per Capo Mongerbino. L’Arco Azzurro, monumento roccioso della frazione marinara di Bagheria (Pa), è stato riconosciuto bene ambientale.
L’Ispra, Istituto Superiore per la Protezione e la Ricerca Ambientale, l’ha infatti inserito tra i siti geologici di maggiore interesse a livello nazionale.
Acquistato dal comune bagherese, dopo la confisca alla mafia, il ponte naturale è stato riqualificato con tecniche ed interventi a bassissimo impatto ambientale per preservare l’ecosistema del luogo.
Simbolo per intere generazioni di innamorati, l’Arco Azzurro viene anche conosciuto come “l’Arco dei Baci”. Negli anni ’80, la nota azienda di baci di cioccolata ha scelto – come sfondo per uno dei suoi spot.
Uno scorcio di costa di straordinaria che, per il momento, può essere raggiunto ed ammirato solo via mare.

Io sono il riccio di mare, so che a voi umani piace mangiarmi, ma voglio ricordarvi che nei mesi di e di mi dovete lasciare tranquillo in mare e non pescarmi, se volete garantire la mia presenza nel futuro ed evitare una sanzione di qualche migliaio di euro!!!
Aiutatemi a sopravvivere rispettando il mio ciclo naturale, evitando di chiedere, consumare, ordinare uno spaghetto o un crostino ai ricci.
L'offerta illecita si combatte con l'azzeramento della domanda!
Dai...sono solo due mesi.
