From 26 March 2024 to 31 October 2025 it will be possible to admire some of Igor Mitoraj's works at the Archaeological Park of Syracuse.
Mitoraj's style is strongly rooted in the classical tradition, with a particular focus on male busts.
Mitoraj, however, also presents a post-modern twist, through the ostentatious emphasis of the damage suffered by classical sculptures, achieved through the creation of truncated limbs and heads. The fractures in his figures allude to the mystery of the ancient that manifests itself to us for fragments, such as finds, allusions and evocations.
