“A gem! The view is bluffing, the house is cute and comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped, the chimney made us cosy and warm, the view again. Also, did I mention the view? The place is awesome for some day hike on the mountains, to discover the lake and the region. And the view is awesome. Sofia and the owner are easy to talk to, nice and useful. Also the view is stunning. Would definitely come back and enjoy. Many thanks”.

No matter how long and where you’re staying at lake Como, Varenna is a must visit at all times.

Experience La Dolce Vita, wander around the maze of alleyways, walk up and down the narrow stairs, stop for a few pictures on the way, have a wine or gelato on the lake front and dine in one of the pretty places along the roads round the back.

Happy International Women’s Day from Lake Como 🇮🇹
🌾Here in Italy they gift stems of Mimosas flowers to women to celebrate. They smell lovely and it feels like Spring is close.
🥂Also Mimosa drink is very common to find in restaurants and bars which is orange juice and sparkling wine 🍊🍾
🍰 And finally the Mimosa cake! Decorated with crumbled sponge cake: this recalls the bunches of the beautiful spring flower.

I haven't had a chance to say hello and reintroduce myself since the new year, and since there are more of you now! So here are a few fun facts about me!

1. I'm Sofia, a property co-host at Lake Como, Italy ⛵️

2. I'm originally from the UK, but I grew up in Italy, still, my love for England is very strong and I visit whenever I find a good excuse! ✈️

3. I can speak 4 languages 🇮🇹🇬🇧🇩🇪🇫🇷 I'm also an English teacher and work in several schools with primary and secondary children and adults.

4. I've been in the holiday rental business since 2007, and this year, I'm celebrating my 6th year of starting my own one with Sofia's Lake Como Rentals.🏡

5. What I love about my job: speaking to people from all over the world, trying to meet them in person and always going the extra mile to give my guests the best experience. Building relationships with property owners who've become my friends over the years. 🤗

6. I live just a short drive away from Lake Como and love getting the chance to spend time at the lake thanks to my wonderful job! 📍

7. I have cats and dogs. My 2 Australian shepherds are my best companions and never miss the chance to go for a swim in the lake, no matter the weather! 🐕🐕

8. I'm very pleased to be part of the community of travelers and hosts, and grateful for another year of business! 💗
