This weekend was a running one! Yesterday I gave my small contribute to my team victory in the Oltrarno race.
The course of this race is really great going up and down from the hills south of Florence. Great landscape but challenging effort.

Double session today. First a nice early morning run in a desert Florence and than a nice walk with a stop at Santa Trinita Basilica.
During this morning walk we came across this very peculiar fresco in the Basilica of Santa Trinità in Florence. The fresco dates 1434 and has been attributed to Giovanni di Marco and Smeraldo di Giovanni. The subject is the martyrdom of Saint Bartolomeo. When I saw the fresco from some distance I noticed that something was strange, and it is! The body of the Saint is absolutely female not a man!

My name is Lapo and comes directly from Dante (see above). I am a florentine architect and a running addict! I’ve run several marathons all around Europe and I think that discovering a town by running is something really special.
