Today we post about the stunning Rosewood Luang Prabang. Hidden in the lush green jungle split down the middle by a waterfall and the river it feeds, with Buddhist temples and buffalo for neighbours, the Rosewood Luang Prabang is the most heavenly of hideaways. Life in the resort feels worlds away and yet it’s just a 10-minute ride to the city’s historic district. It’s just gorgeous!

There are six safari-style tents, with zip-up walls, open-plan bathrooms and balconies with glorious mountain and valley views and extraordinary colonial-chic style River side suites and Riverside or Waterfall side pool villas.

Both type of accommodation are gorgeous but as we have an explorer spirit we love particularly the tents; even if they do require a climb equivalent to about five stories to reach, they afford a commanding view of the property and really evoke a sense of the camping experience.

The sounds of nature are omnipresent, whether it’s the buzzing of the cicadas or the rush of the river that cuts right through the property.

Given the resort’s small size, itineraries are tailor-made according to what each guest wishes to explore. Guests are brought into the local culture, away from tourism and they can experience the true face of what it is to live in Laos. You can go out exploring hill tribes or going to waterfalls, trekking in the jungle, cruising on the Mekong, or going to the elephant sanctuary to walk with the giants in the forest.

Can be totally idyllic but it is not for everybody. Rustic life can also mean c***s crowing, dogs barking, and, sadly, inadequate litter control. These islands are generally harder to get to. No Nobu’s or fusion cooking, (or should this be under advantages?) Houses tend to be less luxurious as equipping and furnishing houses on these islands is complicated, so owners try to keep it simpler.

The ball drop over Times Square — a tradition that started in 1907 — is one of the world’s most iconic New Year’s Eve celebrations, and it remains a draw for about a million visitors every year. Revelers start filling the Crossroads of the World in the afternoon, fighting for a spot with a view, offered free, but on a first-come, first-served basis. The event actually starts at 6 p.m. with the lighting and raising of the ball, kicking off a full night of programming that runs until 12:15 a.m. As we do not want our precious guests to wait for hours in the cold NYC air, we suggest to book the brand new Times Square Edition that is a great hotel with terraces overlooking the Times Square! Sydney’s summertime New Year’s celebrations are among the first in the world. In 2024, they will include a fireworks-fueled show blasted across
television screens to an audience of more than 425 million. We’re talking colorful pyrotechnics launched off the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Opera House. The festivities kick off at 7:30 p.m. local time with a Smoking Ceremony from the Tribal Warrior Association, followed by pylon projections on the bridge, a “Welcome to Country” from the Metropolitan Local Aboriginal
Land Council, a Calling Country fireworks from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, and a light show as decked out boats glide across the harbor. Our favorite hotel in Sydney is of course the outstanding Capella Sydney.

🏔 Carlton Hotel is the smallest (only 61 lake view suites) and most enchanting of the large five-star hotels in St. Moritz, it is a real jewel overlooking the magnificent lake and mountains. We Highly recommend it as your luxury accomodation in st. Moritz.

🇨🇭 The Carlton has a long history, dating back to a time when most European towns and cities seemed to have had both a Carlton and Bristol hotel to attract British travellers. Built in 1913, it has had untold millions spent on it before reopening in 2007 as part of the Tschuggen Hotel Group.

👑 According to legend the property was originally planned as summer residence for the czar Nicolaj II. However, it seems this was never confirmed.
Carlo Rampazzi, supervising interior designer for the complete refurbishment in 2006/2007, used the Russian legend as his artistic inspiration, despite knowing that it was not more than a legend. The atmosphere is of opulent and luxurious that is perfect for this vip destination.

⭐️ There are two fine dining restaurants to choose from. Da Vittorio is perhaps the most renowned destination for foodies in all of St Moritz. Romanoff is the main restaurant with an amazing menu and also a very rich kids menu.
