With Pilgrim Paths, we're walking from Florence to Assisi.. a 17 days adventure with an always smiling group! 🫶

We have already traveled the first 3 stages and today we are entering the Parco Nazionale Foreste Casentinesi to reach Camaldoli, a holy hermitage immersed in the forest!

The Via Francigena, often called the Camino to Rome, isn't just an ancient trail—it's a legendary journey that takes pilgrims from Canterbury in England, across the Channel to France, through Switzerland, and all the way to the heart of Italy, ending in Rome.

This epic adventure is filled with history, breathtaking landscapes, and a deep sense of spirituality, making every step an unforgettable experience.

Today, our group of pilgrims will ascend the Great St. Bernard Pass, bidding farewell to Switzerland and entering Italy.
Only a few more stages remain until they reach Aosta!

We are thrilled to share with you the first three stages of our fantastic walking journey on the historic Via Podiensis, from Le Puy en Velay to Domaine le Sauvage. 📸✨

Starting from the beautiful Le Puy en Velay, with its impressive Notre-Dame Cathedral, we traversed breathtaking landscapes, green hills, and ancient volcanoes. We passed through small villages, valleys, and forests, with the Allier River accompanying us for much of the way. Every step revealed the wild beauty of nature and fascinating medieval villages like Saugues. 🏞️🌻

Arriving at Domaine le Sauvage, an ancient pilgrim hospital, gave us a sense of peace and tranquility. 🌾🚶‍♀️

The emotions experienced and the wonders seen are indescribable! 🌟 We can't wait to continue this extraordinary adventure and share the next chapters of our journey with you. Stay tuned for more updates and spectacular photos! 📷

A new adventure has started! 🥾
🇫🇷 From Le Puy-en-Velay to Conques, we are walking along the Via Podiensis, the French part of the Camino de Compostela.

This morning, at 7am, we attended the pilgrim's mass in the Cathedral of Le Puy, and after receiving the blessing, we crossed the threshold of the church, marking the true beginning of our journey.

🥾 We now face 9 stages of walking through the captivating French countryside, until we reach Conques, the destination of our journey.

It's always touching when you reach the end of a tour. But THIS destination, after such a travel, made with a fabulous group.. leaves us wordless! 🤩
After 300km in two weeks the group have reached San Pietro, concluding the Way of St. Francis from Assisi to Rome. Bravi!! 👏

3 days ago we have started a two-week Sicilian Tandem tour with fifteen pairs from across the USA, in collab. with Tandem Bicycle Tours, Inc.!
🚴‍♀️ From Palermo to Siracusa, via Marsala, Agrigento, Noto.. enjoying everything this beautiful land has to offer: art, nature, craftsmanship and of course food! 🍇

🥾 The Way of St. Francis: between sacred and profane, epic views and delicious dinners, effort and rest, good company and isolation..
As always, it's hard to describe with words what this journey really is, so we just let the pictures do it for us.

🇮🇹 All'alba vincerò (at the sunrise I will win).. Giacomo Puccini wrote in his famous Turandot.
So the Myeloma Cycling Pisa-Roma have reached the Colosseum, not at the sunrise but at sunset, with a lot of emotions and satisfaction for the achievement!

🦯 The "Hanging" Pole / Il bastoncino "Sospeso" (leggi più giù per l'italiano 🇮🇹)
In Italy we have the custom to leave at the bar a "hanging coffee" (caffè sospeso), it means the coffee it's already paid for the next customer whoever he is.

💛 Today we've received a hiking pole from a friend that runs a hut above Sansepolcro, we will be happy to give it back to the pilgrim that left it there, but in the event that no one shows up, we will donate it to whoever will use it on the way of St Francis!

In Italia abbiamo l'usanza di lasciare al bar un "caffè sospeso", ovvero il caffè già pagato per il prossimo cliente chiunque lui sia.

Oggi abbiamo ricevuto un bastoncino da trekking da un amico che gestisce un rifugio sopra Sansepolcro, saremo felici di restituirlo al pellegrino che lo ha lasciato lì, ma nel caso in cui non si presentasse nessuno, lo doneremo a chiunque lo vorrà usare per percorrere il Cammino di San Francesco!

After more than 200km, and 15 days of hiking along the Via di Francesco, we have finally reached Assisi with this nice group!

🇮🇹 The Via di Francesco, or the St. Francis Path, with an American group leaded by Russ Eanes and Sandy Brown of Pilgrim Paths.

🥾 We have started this Path from its most north town: the magnificent Florence. In 13 stages we will reach the Franciscan Assisi, crossing half Tuscany and Umbria, touching some of the most beautiful spots in this part of Italy!

⛰Yesterday we have arrived in the Casentino Valley, and today we will enter in its forest, where nature and spirituality live together in a strong connection.

The journey have just started.. will you wish us a good Cammino? 😉
