Cinque Terre Tour Review
CINQUE TERRE DAY TOUR REVIEW
This tour was amazing. We were in Italy a total of 12 days and this by far was the best day of our trip. Luca was amazing from Let's Andiamo. This is a private tour, so it will just be your family. We decided on a private tour b/c we had our 20 month old with us and did not know how he would be on a long trip. We also wanted to go on our own schedule and hike versus being on a group schedule. Prior to the trip we received a nice email confirmation. Luca arrived early to our hotel in Florence and had the car seat for our son already loaded in the Mercedes. The landscapes were beautiful on the drive and Luca brought it to life with the history and detail. We went to the villages of Manarola, Vernazza, and Corniglia in Cinque Terre. You can usually see one more village, but we wanted to do the hike from Vernazza to Corniglia so decided to forego seeing the other village. Luca was very knowledgeable and we appreciated the history of the different villages. We had free time during the day to eat lunch and shop before doing our hike. If you do not want to hike, there are quick trains (or boats in the spring/summer) that take you between the islands. Luca will assist you in getting train tickets. He will meet you at each island. Luca recommended a great place for lunch and even called and made reservations for us in Vernazza. We loved the basil pasta. Luca was great with our son. He played and joked with him to keep him entertained. Lunch took a little longer than we anticipated and we started later on the hike then we wanted to but Luca was very patient. We backpacked our son and stopped a lot for photos, so you can probably do the hike in 1.5 hrs compared to the 2 hrs it took us. We did the trail from Vernazza to Corniglia which is all up hill and a lot of stairs. We would recommend doing the trail from Corniglia to Vernazza. It will be a bit faster and downhill instead of up. After a long hike it was nice to get some gelato and sit near t
