Did you know that we are more distracted than a goldfish ?

Our ability to understand is therefore significantly weakened.
As well as the perception of reality.
It means that we are almost never living here and now and we feel trapped in the web of distraction, that stress and drepresses us.

Are we able to go back to the point where the perception of beauty is everywhere?

Take a break.
Use your holiday, your precious free time to make a pause and create a void.
Ask yourselves what's really matter for you and let it go all the rest, nothing will happens if you don't follow everything.
Relax. Sit down. Take it easy.

Find your ideal love, your perfect moment, here and now.
Live it, like nobody is watching you at the Borghese Gallery

My favorite 10 places in Rome.
Basilica di San Bartolomeo all'Isola Tiberina is one of them.
In particular today,
November 2, from sunset.
With the procession in memory of the dead, and those drowned in the Tiber, organized by the Confraternity of Sacconi Rossi, founded in the seventeenth century and which fished out, precisely those drowned ... placing them pitifully in the Crypt in the left of the church 💥
Time ago, I was lucky enough to find the Crypt open by coincidence.
Skulls, bones and a long story of mercy, of Christian compassion that helped many people to connect with their beloved ones who disappeared without a reason and to pray for them.
A tribute to the dead in an eighteenth-century Rome. For a "collective feeling" about "loss".
See you today at Sunset ❗

31/10/2024

The Baldacchino di San Pietro, or canopy, has also been brilliantly restored after 250 years, casting a new golden light across the Basilica.

This radiance aligns beautifully with the theme of “Luce” (meaning “Light” in Italian), the mascot of this year.
Luce is a young girl embodying the values of fraternity, friendship, and shared understanding, designed to engage younger visitors and lead them on a meaningful journey throughout this holy year.

Designed by Gian Lorenzo , the structure is adorned with intricate motifs, including bees (a symbol associated with Pope Urban VIII) and other unique elements like a lizard eating a scorpion and small gilded reliefs, that intrigued art historians and are today more visible than ever.
The religious meaning of the lizard refers to the Resurrection:
💥the lizard, in fact, is distinguished by the fact that it sheds its skin and grows a new tail, thus becoming a symbol of the Resurrection.

Standing approximately 29 meters (94 feet) tall and weighing around 70 tons thanks to four twisted bronze columns that support a canopy, the Baldacchino represents a visual focal point above St. Peter's tomb, emphasizing the connection between the apostle and the papacy, symbolizing the authority and sacred space within the basilica.
💥
For travelers interested in authenticity and experiential tourism,
2025’s Jubilee offers much more than a traditional pilgrimage.
It invites you to experience a profound narrative woven through the Basilica’s art, architecture, and devotion.

Connect with me to ensure your place in our Vatican tour focused on those passions.

“La Cattedra dell’Amore”
For 2025’s , Rome has brought a unique focus on love, renewal, and community through the “Chair of Love.”

🌟 This is the meaning that the Pope and the whole cardinal curia gave today to the ancient Cathedra Sancti Petri — the Chair of Saint Peter — symbolizing Peter's pastoral role and leadership rooted in love, as seen when Christ asked him 3 times, "Do you love me more than these?"
In this simple question lies the core of Christian teaching: LOVE that goes beyond duty, a love that calls each person by name.

🌟This Jubilee embraces the idea that a true Christian community, built on synodality and mutual love, takes shape through both personal connection and the legacy of Saint Peter.

Visitors will experience a tangible connection to this history and symbolism, offering a deep and personal encounter with Roman spirituality.

🌟Therefore the Cathedra Sancti Petri was carefully removed from its ornate bronze reliquary in the background in the apse, designed by Bernini, to be restored and appreciated in a new way during this Jubilee.
But hurry up, the “Chair of Love” is visible within Saint Peter’s Basilica only until December 8th, the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.

🌟 This remarkable wooden throne, adorned with ivory plaques depicting the Labors of Hercules and six constellations, carries both secular and sacred symbolism — a rich mixture that invites us to reflect on human strength, resilience, and divine love.

The Chair itself has a unique history.
While it symbolizes Peter’s seat as the Bishop of Rome, some say it has imperial origins, possibly crafted for Emperor Charles the Bald, King of the Franks, who was crowned by Pope John VIII in Saint Peter’s Basilica on Christmas in the year 875.

🌟
This Jubilee is ideal for those seeking not only to visit Rome but to connect with its centuries-old faith and culture in an inclusive, welcoming way that honors each person’s individual journey and the collective spirit of the global Christian community.
Connect with me to ensure your place in our Vatican tour focused on those values.

For several years now we have inherited the Halloween celebrations.
However, I have always wondered, what is the truly interesting thing about this moment?

The main aspect is the reconciliation with the dead people,
in particular the ancestors and therefore our past.

We live in a society that tends to want to forget the past because we believe it to be the seat of mistakes committed.

❤️ We hardly look at the past as the lens of love that illuminates our lives.❤️

In fact, if we were to free ourselves from judgement, from the sense of guilt, from always returning to the same past events with the usual interpretations,
a wonderful world would open up:

❤️the world of our ancestors and all the memories and teachings lying there for us and our evolution.❤️

So, let's go back to our traditions and roots to retrace our real origins,
when during the in the month of February, we celebrated the deceased in the family as well as the most important for the whole community.

With the transition from paganism to Christianity,
Pope Gregory II moved the anniversary of ""All Saints"" to November 1st while, subsequently, that of ""All the dead"" was added on Nov. 2.

In Rome many christian and pagan events will be going on on those days... would you like to be updated on the most interesting ones ?

Please text me ⚜️ Wa.me/+393518319273 ⚜️

What I may suggest my beloved guests, among many options, is a visit to the Galleria Borghese, where you will see a moving magnificient baroque masterpiece of our "fathers".

The first large sculptural group created by Gian Lorenzo Bernini for Scipione Borghese for its private collection in the wonderful Borghese Gallery in Rome depicts Aeneas, Anchises and Ascanius fleeing from burning Troy.
Aeneas movingly supports his elderly father on his shoulders, while he hold the statue of the ancestors, the typical Lari.
The also depicts the traditional theme of the three ages of man,
rendered through the differentiation of the epidermis of the protagonists:
the soft skin of the child, the taut skin of the adult and the wrinkled and withered skin of the elderly.
This moving and romantic sculpture will touch your hearts showing that our ancestors are connected to us with a very thin but powerful thread.
Come rediscover it in Rome where the past of all of us lies !

🌟Excellent golf cart tour of Rome🌟
We took the golf cart tour in Rome as a family of 4 with 2 teens. Couldn’t have asked for a better tour and Marco as our guide was so knowledgeable and friendly, making us all feel extremely comfortable.

This was our first trip and Marco ensured he showed us all the highlights in one round trip. He dropped us off in a location of our choice, which was perfect to continue our exploration of this magical city.

Susanna’s communications were superb and we were well informed of meeting spots and instructions to follow.
Fully recommend this tour - even our teens were impressed!!

Thank you to Susanna and Marco for making a very stress free tour and introduction to Rome.

Why don't you choose a cultural and plan a trip outside Rome to visit the spectacular archeological sites of ?

The Monterozzi hill, in Tarquinia, about 6 km long and home to the main city necropolis, extends parallel to the Thyrrenian sea.

The tombs practically cover the entire hill; more than six thousand are known, mostly chambers dug into the rock and surmounted by mounds.

The extraordinary series of painted tombs - we know of around 200 - represents the most prestigious nucleus of the necropolis where it is possible to admire 22 hypogea, decorated with scenes of athletes, hunters, fishermen, dancers, musicians, jugglers, animals, banquet scenes and demons from the underworld.

In addition to their artistic value, the paintings have an immense sociological value because they show emblematic moments of Etruscan life.

Culture, nature, pleasure, freedom.

My personal guided tour will offer all this and of course the opportunity to pick up a fabulous restaurant in the sorroundings for a legendary meal... actually a real banquette !!

In the first comment, bonus if you like to visit it on the 31st⚡

If you want to visit a city like Rome, in a more intimate climate, the month of October is perfect: the temperatures are still mild and a warm light illuminates the city, giving an even more magical aura to the Eternal City.

The beauty of Rome is mainly linked to the expression of a fascinating history but also to its traditions, to the gastronomy and rites of people who have always been cheerful, joyful and convivial.

This lively spirit found expression since past times in the so-called Roman Ottobrates which coincided with a season where Mother Nature is really sooo generous !

Autumn where everything is tinged with the warm colors of yellow and reddish, preparing us for winter but also offering us wine, hazelnuts, oil, chestnuts!

Combine the most popular walking tours with personalised experiences in real folkloristic adventure to recharge your energy!

Halloween? NO Thanks !
In the archaic Rome it was called "Mundus Patet" and it was celebrated three times a year!

During August 24th, October 5th and November 8th, they opened for 3 days the pit called Mundus Patet,
located exactly in the heart of the city, to pay homage to the dead and in which the world of the living beings and that of the underworld were in communication:
these were the days of the Mundus Patet.

Next time you are passing through the Roman Forum or while you are admiring it from the terrace of the Capitoline Hill,
take a look at the cylinder made in brick, located near the Arch of Septimius Severus and think that from the fissure in the ground ("mundus = underground") the world of the living came into contact with the underworld.

At first glance,
it seems like a whatsoever ruin of an ancient construction but instead those walls in the Roman tradition remind us once more lesson,
that Death is strictly connected to Life, that is has to be honoured and celebrated !

In fact, in ancient times when a new inhabited center had to be created,
a pit was digged at the meeting of the two perpendicular axes placed (which later became the Roman cardo and decumanus) to delimit the sacred area, the famous pomerium.

All sorts of first fruits were thrown inside, it was covered with stone slabs and opened only on the three days of the Mundus Patet festivities,
in which the dead could safely return to earth and wander among the living.

⚜️ Imagine how strong is therefore the symbolism linked to this pit !⚜️

Listen to your guide who is whispering to you and to your kids the meaning of the roman relationship between death and life behind our traditions, while walking in the Forum.
Your kids will love it and honestly, you'll do it too.

Come celebrating as the ancient Romans used to do !

Come and live a unique immersive experience in a vineyard along the Appia Antica, just 20 minutes from the historic center of Rome.
Immerse yourselves into charming grand places to revitalize your energy !
As soon as night falls, time stands still and the magic can happen.
VineaLucens invites you to enter a world animated by shows of lights, sounds, images and flavours.
Discover the peasant traditions, the Via Appia Antica and the legends of the villages of the Agro Romano.

Walk among the rows and listen, thanks to the support of the audio guide, to the Roman and Italic legends that are intertwined with the stories of a family that has been cultivating the vine with passion for more than 100 years.
The route winds inside the vineyard for approximately 2 kilometers and lasts approximately 45 minutes/1 hour.

The visit takes place outdoors following a path marked by lights that will take you through rows of vines, among olive and kiwi trees and along a small rustic bridge, also taking you along a stretch of the Via Appia Antica.

Enjoy the fruits of the vineyard and culminate your experience with the sommelier, tasting a glass of wine.

Ask me how to combine it with our local and authentic wine tasting with Nicoletta or cooking class with Claudia!

The magic begins after sunset.
