There is a small town in the province of Messina of just 1,700 inhabitants that for decades has been a destination for tourists from all over the world who go to take the customary photos at the world-famous "Bar Vitelli" in Savoca made famous because exactly fifty years ago, in 1971, some scenes from Francis Ford Coppola's legendary film "The Godfather" were filmed.

In "The Godfather Part I" Michael Corleone, played masterfully by Al Pacino, flees New York to escape the Tattaglia family and takes refuge in Sicily under the protection of Don Tommasino. At the very Bar Vitelli Michael Corleone asks the owner, Mr. Vitelli to be exact, for the hand of the beautiful daughter he will shortly marry.

Fifty years after the filming of the movie, Bar Vitelli has become an iconic place, and many tourists who come to Sicily stop here to relive the places of a film that made movie history. Inside the bar, where you can enjoy granitas, ice creams and traditional Sicilian desserts, you enter a real museum where you can find the original objects used during the filming of the movie, which are real gems for visitors.

The Salt Way.
Along the road from Palermo to Corleone,crossing the Belice Valley to reach Marsala and its salt pains.
Sunset over the salt pans,one of the four most beautiful sunsets in the world sunsets 🌅.
Skirting the “Stagnone Lagoon” where Motya is located,it is possible to see numerous dazzling white mountains glistening in the sun.
These are not snow-capped mountains but hills of salt.

A poorly-fitted helmet is not going to do its job. If you fall, it may move and fail to protect you. The straps should lie flat on your head and jaw. If your helmet has a rear-fit system, tighten it until the helmet no longer moves, but without crushing your head. Remember that the circumference of your head may increase or decrease slightly while cycling, so adjust your helmet as you go to ensure a snug fit.
