For the upcoming 2023 Season we are glad to announce our Domus Showcase, a view into our available to rent properties in Southern Sardinia.

You will also soon find in our page, helpful travel guides and services available to make your experience in Sardinia a unique one.

We would like to start our Domus Showcase with Domus Moon.

Located just 300 meters from Porto Luna, Is Traias and Is Prezzus beach you will find Domus Moon’s amazing sea view.
It comfortably offers room for four people. Its two floors are organized this way:

🇬🇧 Make sure to check out Sardinia's Folklore when you visit!
Our ancient land is filled with unique traditions that still live to this day.
The precise meaning of the name, Mamuthones is lost in time and a subject of discussion and debate, but you can think of it as an ancient pagan God of the changing seasons, from winter to spring, and sacrificing for the new year of growth, good rains and successful harvests.
The masks themselves are amazing works of folk art, carved from fig, elm, chestnut or walnut and blackened to a frightening effect. The costume is made of black sheep skins which are heavy and weigh down the Mamuthone, arranged on the back are a series of carriga (bells) which are said to scare away evil spirits.

La Nostra Terra è ricca di tradizioni che vivono tutt'oggi.
Quelli che vedi in foto sono i "Mamuthones". L'origine del nome è persa nel tempo ed è oggetti di dibattito fra gli studiosi, ma per certo puoi immaginarlo come un antico Dio pagano del cambio delle stagioni, e del sacrificio per un nuovo anno di piogge abbondanti e raccolti abbondanti.
Le Maschere stesse sono un capolavoro: scolpite da legno di fico, olmo, castagno o noce, vengono dipinte di nero per impaurire.
Il costume è fatto con pelle di pecora nera che pesa sul Mamuthone, insieme a una serie di "Carriga" (campane), che dovrebbero allontanare gli spiriti maligni.

🇬🇧 The Myrtle family is a family of common plants in the Mediterranean Scrub of Sardinia. All species are woody, with essential oils, and small flower parts in multiples of four or five. The leaves are evergreen and the fruits are edible, though not too good.
They are typically better used to distill a delicious liquor, "Anima Nera", and tasty marmelades.

🇮🇹 I Mirti sono una famiglia di piante comuni nella Macchia Mediterranea della Sardegna.
Tutte le specie sono legnose, con oli essenziali e piccoli fiori. Le foglie sono sempre verdi e i frutti commestibili, anche se non buonissimi.
Sono infatti utilizzati tipicamente per distillare un ottimo liquore, "Anima Nera", o deliziose marmellate.

🇩🇪 Die Myrtengewächse sind eine Familie, die im mediterranen Gestrüpp Sardiniens verbreitet ist. Alle Arten sind holzig, mit ätherischen Ölen und kleinen Blüten.
