André Michel was born in Cap-Haïtien, Haïti. His mother and grandmother were well known by word of mouth top seamstress in northern Haïti. He spent his childhood playing in the small home atelier among fabrics, threads and patterns. He showed a lot of interest to the craft, especially when his uncle was in town making his own s

uits. In order to motivate, his mother showed him how to sew, explained the color combination. When he was 10 years old his family moved to Lausanne, Switzerland. While living there, he for the first time in his life encountered with Italy. He was charmed with this country, especially with its art and design. It determined and facilitated his future career, as he mainly worked for Italian brands and now almost all of his pieces are made by top-notched Italian tailors and craftsmen. In keeping with his family’s wish he received a Bachelor Degree in Biology at the Université de Lausanne. Immediately after graduating, he moved to the US to pursue a career in fashion design and carry on his family’s firmly rooted tradition of clothes making. But the knowledge obtained in the University are not useless, he believes that Anatomy is crucial for garments construction. For over 20 years he has worked for and helped build some of the world’s most recognizable luxury businesses, including Kiton, Ermenegildo Zegna, Borrelli, J. Mendel, Silvano Lattanzi, and Domenico V***a. His experience extends across New York, Beverly Hills, Bal Harbour and Palm Beach. During these years, he has honed his knowledge of all stages of constructing, manufacturing and marketing of high-end clothes and accessories. He earned the reputation of a consummate gentleman and an elegant person by his clients and colleagues. From August 2008 he devoted all his time and efforts to his own brand, Andre Michel Clothier. His attention to the smallest details, the clients’ expectation of performance and their taste are his hallmark. He offers the most exquisite fabrics, accessories, and esteem tailors in the world. His approach to fashion emphasizes the importance of embracing one’s unique physical characteristics, lifestyle, and personality. He can be trusted to bring to his client the best garment that compliments his or her sense of style and treat the image as an investment. It is his elevated level of performance that allows him to dress celebrities, society elites and several royals it is through passion and dedication to his craft that he is referred to by his clientele as the best suit maker money can buy.
