My passion for Africa took me for the first time to the continent as a volunteer in the Tarangire Lion Project, are search project on the lion population in the Tarangire National Park in northern Tanzania. I studied to become a professional guide in South Africa in the Kruger National Park, where I received my qualifications for ARH (Advanced Rifle Handling) and later on , Level 3 qualification f
rom FGASA (Field Guide Association of Southern Africa), the most accredited association of safari guides in Africa. I also received the qualification as Trails Guide, again from FGASA, regarding theconduction of walking safaris in areas with potentially dangerous game. I have worked and I still work as a resident guide and as camp manager in southern Tanzania in two of the wildest and most untouched areas inthe African continent, Ruaha National Park and Selous Game Reserve. In South Africa I mostly worked as walking guide in Klaserie and Timbavati game reserve. Now I am freelancing, working as a consultant, guide and trainer for various companies and camps or as private guide for guest who want to have a deeper understanding of the bush. I am in the board of AIEA, associazione italiana esperti d'africa, our aim is to spread our passion for africa and train the next generation of italian speaking guides. Seeing the elephants walking down to drink, following them, crossing the river downwind, walking around trying to avoid a lonely hippo, climbing a rock on the edge of the bank and watching the unaware herd... priceless
