Such lake as Baikal could not fail to produce healing mountain springs, there are more than 200 of them here.
They are all different in properties and water composition, but in most cases the waters are carbonated with nitrogen, methane and occasionally - hydrogen sulfide.
Many of the mineral springs are very hot – the temperature sometimes rises to 70° C.
People come here through the whole country to get cured and to see the unique landscapes of Lake Baikal.

We are often asked about the best time to visit the Baikal.
Well, here how it is:
Summer and winter are very different.
In winter the ice is amazing, of course, but the lake starts freezing late - the winter program is usually February and March, sometimes early April.
It looks unusual: the ice caves, dog sledding, ice trekking, skating, geo thermal baths, etc.
But the lake is equally picturesque in summer, and the weather is warmer 😁
Then you can expect flowers on the shore, ferry cruises, the railway trip around the lake, the purest waters in the world...
In May there is an in-between state, when the ice is half melted - the animals become more active, you can literally see the battle between winter and summer with the ice drifting...
So it's up to you.
What are you interested in more? We wouldn't recommend late autumn, though - it's gloomy😌

Wooden architecture can be found throughout Russia, but Kizhi Island boasts some of the nation's most famous, and most intricate, examples.
These structures on Kizhi Island date from various centuries (the oldest from the 14th century), and they have been transported to the island so that they may be preserved and be accessible to the public.
