From Siberia with love💙
This Karelian traditional pasty is typically made with rye flour and a variety of fillings: rice, mashed potatoes or, like in this pic - northern blueberries.
It's a must try in your travels.
"It seems to me that the natural world is the greatest source of excitement; the greatest source of visual beauty; the greatest source of intellectual interest. It's the greatest source of so much in life that makes life worth living".

Thousands of tourists spend their vacations in Karelia every year because of the great variety of stunning landscapes. It is an amazing picturesque land full of forests, lakes and rivers which make this place one of the main destinations for ecotourism in Russia.
Karelia is not only a beautiful location with overwhelming views and tons of fresh air, but also a region with a rich history and culture.
According to the most viable version, the name of Lake Baikal comes from the Turk language and means "a rich lake".
Such lake as Baikal could not fail to produce healing mountain springs, there are more than 200 of them here.
They are all different in properties and water composition, but in most cases the waters are carbonated with nitrogen, methane and occasionally - hydrogen sulfide.
Many of the mineral springs are very hot – the temperature sometimes rises to 70° C.
People come here through the whole country to get cured and to see the unique landscapes of Lake Baikal.
Lady Sunset. Unreal, right?

Karelia is worth a trip in both summer and winter when possible activities include dog sledding and running from the banya to an ice hole and back.
Summer hikers can visit the Kivach waterfall or the Demon's Chair plateau.
Karelia is the land of the Karelian people, is an area in Northern Europe of historical significance for Finland, Russia, and Sweden.
It is a regular destination among Finnish and Russian territories in international tourism for its unique architectural, cultural and historical sites.
It's a land of lakes, rocky terrains and wild forests.
The Earth is five billion years old.
How lucky I am to be alive the same time as you💭

We are often asked about the best time to visit the Baikal.
Well, here how it is:
Summer and winter are very different.
In winter the ice is amazing, of course, but the lake starts freezing late - the winter program is usually February and March, sometimes early April.
It looks unusual: the ice caves, dog sledding, ice trekking, skating, geo thermal baths, etc.
But the lake is equally picturesque in summer, and the weather is warmer 😁
Then you can expect flowers on the shore, ferry cruises, the railway trip around the lake, the purest waters in the world...
In May there is an in-between state, when the ice is half melted - the animals become more active, you can literally see the battle between winter and summer with the ice drifting...
So it's up to you.
What are you interested in more? We wouldn't recommend late autumn, though - it's gloomy😌

Russia might be beautiful with its architecture, but it's second to none in its wilderness and diversity of the nature.
Wooden architecture can be found throughout Russia, but Kizhi Island boasts some of the nation's most famous, and most intricate, examples.
These structures on Kizhi Island date from various centuries (the oldest from the 14th century), and they have been transported to the island so that they may be preserved and be accessible to the public.
You can easily visit this UNESCO World Heritage site in our tours in Karelia when you visit Saint-Petersburg.
