🎂 ✨Thank you for the wishes! 💜 Some thoughts and things I have learned in 33 years:

🍃I was born in the most beautiful place in the world, a place that stays in your heart.
Thanks to my dear Amiata I have learned to recognize the sound of beech trees and the scent of linden trees. That if you don’t know how to listen to nature, you don’t know how to live. Yes, we might all be a little crazy, but our hearts are full of values. I have learned that people like us are very hard to find. I have learned that some lifelong friends are like a family. Ah, and that if there’s an important event, it will definitely rain!

🏡I now know that roots are not chosen and cannot be changed, and the concept of family doesn’t always involve blood relations, but I am very fortunate to have my parents and my sister by my side.

⚜️ Now, I live in the most wonderful city in the universe and do the job I’ve always wanted to do. I’m surrounded by amazing people (and cats) each incredible in their own way and full of interests. Florence has taught me beauty, art, understanding the needs of people different from me, choosing the friends I want, not doing things I don’t feel like doing, following my intuition, and always saying what’s on my mind. I have learned that if you do the work you love, you may be exhausted, but your heart will always be full.

❤️ On days like this, I think about what I have and what I no longer have. I miss the loved ones who are no longer with me, some for the first time.

🦀 I reflect on the beautiful things I have and the suffering happening in the world and I only wish for lightness and better times for all of us.

… and I wish my dear Fiorentina will win something! 😅 Oh well, I’ve also learned that if you say “ Eccolo! Here it comes” they never score!

I love you all.

New video! 🎥 What an extraordinary journey this new adventure in Venice has been! 🎭 Roaming through the winding canals and hidden alleyways, I’m reminded of the rich tapestry of history and culture that envelops this city. In the words of Casanova, Venice is a place ‘where every stone breathes an air of past ages.’

As Goldoni once captured in his plays, Venice is not just a city; it’s a stage where every corner tells a story. Walking in the footsteps of Tintoretto and Tiziano, I couldn’t help but marvel at the timeless beauty of their masterpieces, each stroke echoing the soul of this enchanting city.

Working alongside has been an incredible experience of fun and discovery as always! Can’t wait for more adventures together! 🛶

🔥🔥In my hometown Abbadia San Salvatore, everything is set for this December 24th, the most anticipated night of the year. I decided to share this video I made in 2019 to show you my favorite day of the year.

🎄Christmas here is a unique blend of tradition, magic, and ancient rituals thanks to the one of Italy's oldest tradition.

🪵This tradition originates from a deeply cherished and participatory millenarian custom. The event's preparation begins weeks ago when the "torchbearers" start gathering materials to construct the "fiaccole" - distinctive pyramidal woodpiles reaching up to seven meters high. These structures, scattered throughout my small medieval village, await Christmas Eve when they'll be set ablaze.

🔥The entire community collaborates in crafting these unique rural monuments. For days on end, they intertwine logs, defying gravity with techniques passed down through generations, honoring a fire ritual that embraces everyone by blending symbolic pagan and religious meanings.

🌋The inhabitants of Amiata, a volcanic origin mother mountain, are "children of fire." Within its depths lay incandescent lava that nurtured a generous land providing sustenance and prosperity to the community since ancient times. From those depths, cinnabar was extracted until recently, processed to obtain mercury in the vast mine, now transformed into a museum.

🪵🔥It's a complex history intertwining man and nature in an inseparable bond, a sometimes challenging yet always loving dialogue. The mountain, revered and cherished as a sacred mother, is celebrated by the locals "badenghi" as me through the fiaccole tradition.

Merry Christmas from me & Michelangelo ❤️🎁

🌟Have you ever seen the original ‘Gates of Paradise’ by Lorenzo Ghiberti? This is a true testament to dedication and artistry. Crafted over 25 years, this gilded bronze door narrates biblical stories with astonishing detail and depth. Each panel depicts scenes so lifelike, it feels like stepping into history itself.

🌟Before this door Ghiberti had already crafter another door for 25 years. Fascinatingly, Ghiberti that time secured victory over Filippo Brunelleschi in a competition to design the doors for the Florence Baptistery in 1401. Despite being younger and less renowned than Brunelleschi at the time, Ghiberti’s exceptional skill in creating reliefs with extraordinary perspective depth clinched the win. This triumph marked the beginning of Ghiberti’s extraordinary artistic career and his unparalleled contribution to the Renaissance art. 🏆

🌟After making that first door Ghiberti optioned the possibility of making this one. A marvel that stands tall, celebrating the fusion of skill and imagination.

Michelangelo, the renowned Renaissance artist, referred to Ghiberti’s ‘Gate of Paradise’ as the ‘Gate of Paradise’ for its exceptional beauty. He was so impressed by Ghiberti’s work that he believed these doors were worthy of being the entrance to the heavenly paradise itself. Such was the profound impact of Ghiberti’s masterpiece on one of history’s greatest artists. 🚪✨

🐾 Calling all cat enthusiasts! Did you know that nestled within the heart of the Annunciation fresco by Pomarancio at Florence’s time-honored Santa Maria Nuova, a slumbering cat steals the spotlight!

🐈This iconic feline resident has graced Santa Maria Nuova since 1615, a serene figure amidst a historical moment set to change the world.

🐱Relaxing on a chair within its home, this enigmatic cat becomes part of a one-of-a-kind depiction of the Annunciation. This unique artwork, adorning the loggia of Santa Maria Nuova, invites you into a scene where Mary receives the Archangel Gabriel’s message.

🎨Founded by Folco Portinari, father of Dante’s beloved Beatrice, this hospital started small beside the church of S. Egidio in 1285. Over time, it blossomed into the grand edifice of the 17th century, adorned with the Pomarancio fresco cycle, including this extraordinary Annunciation artwork.

😻As Mary attentively listens to the angel’s words, our furry friend—perhaps slumbering or softly purring—adds an adorable touch to this historic setting. 🐱✨ How cute???
