Owner Profile - Egon Rose
[email protected]
Egon, a serial entrepreneur, was born in the hills of St. Mary. He spent his youth helping his mother by selling fruits & coconut water. Moving from the Hamilton Mountain to Ocho Rios was an adjustment at a young age, but he adapted well.
One of his first business ventures was a push cart service at age 14. Egon’s respectable manor, lively personality, and hardworking nature allotted him many regular customers and job offers doing work across the island.
He grew to work, as many Jamaicans do, in the tourism sector. For years he learned business insights of large hotels, charter services, and beach management. Do to his trustworthy reputation, he made friends and acquaintances from all over the world appreciate him as a credible and protective friend. Referrals for services rolled in for hosted travel, greeting foreign travelers and showing them the “Real Jamaica.”
He has seen the negative impact of the tourist industry on “Real Jamaica” were endless profit is made by the rich, while the working poor are left with scraps.
Big Up Nation, his newest venture, was structured to combat that mentality. It takes to heart the Jamaican Coat of Arms which reads, “Out Of Many, One People.”
