Hurricane Beryl rips through sections of the roof at the Norman Manley International Airport.
⚠️Storm Surge Cuts off Port Royal Entrance⚠️. If you have friends and family in Port Royal, Jamaica this is the current situation. #beryl #HurricaneBeryl #Jamaica
Look at this!! The outer bands of Hurricane Beryl are lashing Puerto Rico, as it makes its way to Jamaica. Still a monster category 4, just 2 miles per hour below Cat 5 strength.
For reference, this makes it worse than Gilbert (cat 3) & Ivan (cat 4).
What makes it deadly is the strong winds, and flash flooding from heavy rains and the storm surges.

⚠️ URGENT ⚠️
Family, this is not the news we were hoping for, but the latest NHC forecast and projects that #Beryl will make landfall over Jamaica, possibly as a catastrophic Cat 4 - in the night.
This is scary stuff. We can’t sugar coat it. We just have to face it and do what we need to do.
Initially, we expected a side swipe. But things aren’t looking that way for us.
That is worst case.
Best case - even without direct landfall, heavy rainfall and flash flooding are likely over Jamaica on Wednesday in the night. So no time for ramping. Beryl didn’t come to play. Stay safe Fam, we’ll be posting and sharing throughout.
Family!!!
8:45am EST, Jamaica
Here’s the latest on Category 5 Hurricane Beryl. It stand up strong and tracking even closer to us.
We will get very bad hurricane conditions, even if it weakens. Even if the eye misses us. It’s just too big and too strong. Prayer is important but we need to help ourselves!!
They said wind sheers should weaken it, that hasn’t happened yet!! The initial wind sheers have done nothing to it. It is strong and stubborn.
We are hoping as it gets closer to Jamaica the wind sheer from the east will start impacting the system.
Big up & all credit to The Weather Channel
Hurricane Beryl is still a category 5 storm. As of 7am EST today, there has been no weakening. We need to prepare now. We have 24 hours before weather conditions worsen. #beryl #HurricaneBeryl
