As-Salt is a thriving town located northwest of the capital Amman. Built on three main mountains (the Citadel, Gadaa and Salalem), surrounded by the city square, As-Salt is surrounded by breathtaking views and is a wonderful contrast to some of the westernized sites of Amman, thanks to its good water supply and agricultural land, it has been inhabited since at least the Iron Age. It has been identified with Roman Gadaron; and in Byzantine times it had its own bishop. Its name (Latin: Saltus means wooded valley).

Perched comfortably on the mountaintops, As-Salt maintains an authentic society based on affection, brotherhood and love. The mountainside town also has significant historical significance, including as the regional capital of the Ottoman Empire.

UNESCO's World Heritage Committee has added As-Salt, "the place of tolerance and urban hospitality," to its World Heritage list, becoming the sixth Jordanian monument to be declared a World Heritage site.

Réserve de Biosphère de Dana:

La réserve de biosphère de Dana, en Jordanie, est la plus grande et la première réserve de biosphère du pays, désignée par l'UNESCO en 1998. Gérée par la Société royale pour la protection de la nature, elle offre des paysages spectaculaires et variés, avec des montagnes, des plaines et des vallées. La réserve abrite trois régions biogéographiques différentes, ce qui en fait la zone la plus diversifiée du pays en termes d'écosystèmes et de modèles de végétation. On y trouve notamment des forêts de cyprès pérennes, et plus de 891 espèces de plantes ont été recensées, dont certaines sont nouvelles pour la science. La réserve de Dana est considérée comme une réserve d'importance mondiale en raison de sa biodiversité et de sa contribution à la recherche scientifique, notamment dans les domaines des milieux montagnards, steppiques et désertiques.

Visitez Amman de nuit ! Nous viendrons vous chercher à votre hôtel d'Amman et, avec votre escorte, vous commencerez à découvrir la capitale dans la soirée. Tout d'abord, nous nous rendons sur la colline de la Citadelle, dans le centre-ville, pour profiter d'une vue panoramique sur les collines d'Amman et le théâtre romain. Petite promenade le long d'une ruelle, puis traversée du souk animé, arrêt éventuel au marché aux épices, et continuation vers Jabal Amman avec la rue Arc-en-ciel. Nous nous mêlons aux habitants dans un café et apprécions un délicieux dîner dans un restaurant arabe. Ensuite, nous naviguons dans les quartiers modernes, en passant par la mosquée illuminée du roi Hussein Bin Talal et en voyant les maisons des quartiers résidentiels Abdoun et Dabouk. La réserve de biosphère de Mujib est une réserve naturelle située en Jordanie, créée en 1985. Elle couvre une superficie de 212 kilomètres carrés le long de la rive est de la mer Morte. Cette réserve abrite une grande diversité de faune et de flore grâce à la présence de nombreux wadis, qui permettent la croissance des plantes aquatiques. Ces wadis jouent un rôle important pour compenser le taux d'évaporation élevé de la mer Morte. On y trouve également une grande variété de plantes, dont des palmiers, des figuiers sauvages et des lauriers-roses. La réserve est habitée par plusieurs espèces de mammifères, notamment l'hyrax, le blaireau et l'albadan, une espèce de chèvre de montagne. On peut également y observer des carnivores tels que le lynx. La réserve est également un point de passage pour les oiseaux migrateurs grâce au corridor

Description : Empruntez le pont suspendu en métal pour atteindre le début du sentier, où vous marcherez à travers l'eau jusqu'à une cascade de 20 mètres de haut. This magnificently restored theatre is the most obvious and impressive remnant of Roman Philadelphia and is the highlight of Amman for most foreign visitors. The theatre itself is cut into the northern side of a hill and has a seating capacity of 6000. Ma'in Hot Springs or Hammamat Ma'in (biblical Belemounta), 74 km (64 miles) south of Amman and 264 meters (866 feet) below sea level, is the thermal mineral hot springs and waterfalls, where Herod the Great was said to have bathed in its medicinal water, and where people have come for thermal treatments, or simply to enjoy a hot soak, since the days of Rome.

Thousands of visiting bathers come each year to enjoy the mineral-rich waters of these hyper-thermal waterfalls.
These falls originate from winter rainfalls in the highland plains of Jordan and eventually feed the 109 hot and cold springs in the valley.
This water is heated to temperatures of up to 63° Celsius by underground lava fissures as it makes its way through the valley before emptying into the Zarqa River.☝️

The site of John the Baptist's settlement at Bethany Beyond The Jordan, where Jesus was baptized, has long been known from the Bible (John 1:28 and 10:40) and from the Byzantine and medieval texts.

The site has now been identified on the east bank of the Jordan River, in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, and is being systematically surveyed, excavated, restored, and prepared to receive pilgrims and visitors. Bethany Beyond the Jordan is located half an hour by car from Amman. The Bethany area sites formed part of the early Christian pilgrimage route between Jerusalem, the Jordan River, and Mount Nebo.

The trail begins shortly after the exit from the outer Siq, where you will climb up ancient Nabataean steps.
