Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: Amman, Jordan
Company: EuroMed Shipping, an Al Jazy Shipping and Forwarding Company - a leading player in the shipping and logistics sector in Jordan.
Key Responsibilities:
1- Retrieve and manage load/discharge lists for each vessel/voyage, including transshipment and dangerous goods (DG) cargo.
2- Check terminal requirements for DG cargo and coordinate with the customer service team to ensure compliance with necessary actions for each DG shipment.
3- Plan import/export/transshipment of laden and empty units for each vessel/voyage and communicate with the line operations, Aqaba operations team, and terminal.
4- Perform timely load/discharge confirmations of units on the line system for each vessel/voyage.
5- Coordinate with depots and terminals to ensure timely evacuation of empty containers as instructed by the line each week.
6- Negotiate and initiate agreements related to storage and transportation of containers to optimize logistics costs.
7- Maintain accurate and updated container stock reports across all locations within the country.
8- Audit terminal and depot invoices before payment to ensure the accuracy of unit quantities and matched activities for each vessel/voyage.
9- Coordinate with slot partners on planned loading lists and update the line forms and system accordingly.
10- Approve work orders for empty evacuated units to facilitate accounting claims for paid expenses on containers during their cycle in Jordan.
11- Provide lists of loaded/discharged units by partners to assist the accounting department in raising related local handling invoices as per JSA tariff.
12- Confirm agency calls in the line system based on terminal arrival/departure reports for each vessel/voyage.
13- Verify planned bookings with the line capacity team to ensure TEU allocations and total tonnage match for each export vessel.
14- Create feeder schedules on the line system as per line instructions.
15- Control and report all equipment movements accurately through the equipment handing team, raising official requests on the line system for any operational challenges.
Qualifications:
1- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
2- 8-10 years of experience in operations management within the shipping and logistics industry 2 of which in operations management.
3- Strong knowledge of container logistics, DG cargo handling, and terminal operations.
4- Proficient in using logistics management software and MS Office Suite.
5- Excellent communication skills in both English and Arabic, both verbal and written.
