The Jordan Trail Guidebook is a private initiative of two Jordanian nature lovers,
and it is happening NOW! Abedelrahim Mustafa, professional tour guide and adventurer, and George Inkababian, expert of the Jordanian outdoors, have joined their forces to create the first guidebook for the Jordan Trail. YES, the traditional hard copy booklet, with descriptions, maps and pictures, that would take y
ou through the 675 kilometers of Jordanian lands, from North to South. Abedelrahim has set off on the Jordan trail this Friday 15/01/2021 to cross the country from Umm Qais to Aqaba. George supports him from the backstage, bringing advice in technical matters, and insuring the upstream work and preparations are done to make the project a reality. George and Abedelrahim both know the Trail like the back of their hand. This thru-hike will allow them to focus on details of the path, gather particular ideas and tips to share with their future readers. This is the finish line.
We are happy to announce that Abedelrahim completed his thru hike on Jordan Trail by reaching the finish line in Aqaba today .
This puts an end to the first phase of the Guidebook creation stay with us for the following steps.
The magical moonland on Earth: Wadi Rum

Dear followers and friends,
We would like to inform you that Abedelrahim is now on a short break from his mission on the Trail. The reason is that he takes part in the Trekking Guides Course with the French alpine school E.N.S.A École Nationale de Ski et d'Alpinisme.
Enter the unrivalled in beauty and historical significance site of Petra from the back door!
The epic trek from Dana to Petra is the most famous trekking route in Jordan. In 2011, it featured in the National Geographic as one of the Top 15 Hikes in The World. Today, it is part of the national Jordan Trail.
The trail passes Wadi Dana, Feynan, Wadi Araba, Little Petra, and leads to Petra through its back door.
We would like to mention the great investment of Jordanian tour guide Yamaan Safady in establishing this route and making it famous.

So far, Abedelrahim hiked 445 KM. 230 KM to go.
Meeting people on the trail, locals or tourists, speaking to them and sharing experiences really is the best motivation to keep going!
That's how Abedelrahim felt today when he met two foreign hikers on his way from Dana village to Wadi Malaga.

At times, you may not find a more comfortable place to sleep than your tent. Keep in mind that you can contact the local providers who can come and pick you up, bring you to their accommodation and, in the morning, bring you back to the spot you reached the day before to resume your hike.
In the Guidebook, we will provide a list of trustworthy providers along the trail.

It is part of the Jordanian local communities’ culture to welcome guests any time of the year, no matter the circumstances. Throughout your hike along the trail, you can be sure to have unplanned encounters, surprising dinners and a helpful hand.

From Al Mujib river, where the altitude is about 50 meters below sea level, to the top of the Mujib cliffs at +950m, one must climb over 1000m in altitude over 11km before continuing a fairly level 9km to Majdalein, the end of this particularly challenging section. We estimate that the average speed for the uphill part of the trail is about 2,5km/h – a 4 hour physical effort to make before reaching the plateau and the exceptional view it offers.

Yesterday night was a special one due to the kindness and generosity of Mr Maikhled(Abo Saqer) who hosted me at his farm although the weather conditions were not optimal to share dinner with him ,the night ended up with a great company ,Abdelazeez .

Hi everyone, Today, after crossing Wadi Zarqa Ma'in, Abedelrahim reached Al Hidan river, and will camp there. Tomorrow, he will start hiking earlier than usual in order to reach Wadi Al Mujib, one of the most difficult sections on the trail. This region is very different from the previous ones.
