The Dead Sea is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east and Israel and the West Bank to the west. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley, and its main tributary is the Jordan River. The lake's surface is 430.5 metres below sea level, making its shores the lowest land-based elevation on Earth.

Q: Why was it named dead sea?
A: It is called the Dead Sea because there is no life or fish, so the water is so dense and with much salt, it makes everyone float to the heaviest, which makes it a source for rock and sea salts.

Q: What is the Salinity level?
A: The Dead Sea has a salinity of 33.7 per cent. This is almost 10 times saltier than ordinary seawater.

Q:What is the Water temperature?
A:Consequently, the climate at the Dead Sea remains warm and sunny all year round. The temperature of the Dead Sea water rarely, if ever, drops below 20 degrees Celsius, and peaks at 32 degrees during the summer months. The surrounding climate is also particularly warm, even in winter .

Jordan has announced it was easing coronavirus-related restrictions on foreign visitors. Jordan’s Tourism Board said that as of March 1, visitors would no longer be required to take a PCR test before entering the country or take another PCR test upon arrival at airports and other entry points.

Visitors will still have to sign a pledge to get tested if they feel coronavirus symptoms and agree to self-isolate if they contract COVID-19.

“We hope the relaxing of previous restrictions will help once again the recovery of tourism to the kingdom and ease access for travelers planning their trips to Jordan,” said Abed Al-Razzaq Arabiyat, MD, Jordan Tourism Board.
