Our Story

The Jordan Southern Ghawr Company is a locally-run enterprise that

seeks to highlight the southern region of the Jordan Valley as a tourist

destination by offering high-quality services and experiences that reflect

the local cultural heritage, nature, and history.

Another aspect of the company’s mission is to educate the community on

the importance of cultural and natural resources and to provide equal

employment opportunities to local men and women.

Bringing together the concepts of sustainable, locally-based tourism,

awareness, and employment, the Jordan Southern Ghawr Company is a

unique enterprise in Jordan. We look forward to helping you plan a

perfect visit to the southern Jordan Valley!

Vision: Highlighting the southern region of the Jordan Valley (Ghawr) as a

special tourist destination, offering high quality services that reflect local

cultural heritage, and improving the income level of hosting communities

by providing tourism services and making use of existing cultural and

natural resources.

Mission: To sensitize host communities to the importance of cultural and

natural resources, to provide equal employment opportunities and to

utilize human, natural and cultural resources to promote the southern

region of the Jordan Valley (Ghawr) as a tourist destination throughout

the year.

The Jordan Southern Ghawr Company is funded by The Sustainable Cultural Heritage Through Engagement of Local Communities Project (USAID SCHEP) funded by The American Center of Oriental Research promotes research (ACOR) funded by United States of America agency for International Development (USAID).
