PLEASE-HELP-THE-PEOPLE-OF-NOTO
To the good people of Hakuba / Nagano
As we all know late afternoon on
1st day of 2024
Ishikawa / Noto region was smashed by a devestating earthquake that destroyed homes set off a of an inferno of fires and caused death and destruction to this most beautiful part of Japan
The lost of lives and destruction is heart breaking the power and force of the 7.6 quake is incomprehensible to those not there - the trail of destruction sadly evidence of nature at its most savage
What’s left will take years to repair reconstruct and the death of those wonderful people unable to escape will never be forgotten
Helping the survivors has been difficult access to affected areas - damage and destroyed roads has made getting supplies in to the narrow peninsula difficult at best or impossible
With the winter months ahead the survivors need many items in short supply there or in the surrounding areas
Having secured a location to accept our donations
We have a
3,700 liter
Kerosene tanker that we plan to take to Noto early next week
We are asking the people to contribute as best they can to give some support to this devastated community
The kerosene tanker will cost approx ¥500,000
We are asking for cash donations
Additionally
Tarpaulins / Blankets
And
Black plastic 45liter bags
( to be used for temporary toilet needs )
If you can contribute to this supply run we can take financial donations at
36degreesnorth
Lodge Hakuba
( between hours )
7am-11am & 4pm-9pm
We thank you in advance from the bottom of our hearts and I’m sure from the lovely people of Ishikawa / Noto

Volunteers are coming together to help each other in the wake of disaster. However, eventually isolated rural villages will need rethinking.
