Cooling Down in Kyoto
I believe many of you are planning your summer trips to Japan. If you are considering Kyoto, "Kibune Kawadoko Kaiseki Cuisine" is what I recommend. Kibune is about a 45-minute drive from Kyoto Station. Along a stream, several Kaiseki cuisine restaurants operate. They take advantage of the beautiful location by the stream to create "kawadoko" (riverbed dining platforms). Guests dine while seated above the river, enjoying delicious Kaiseki cuisine while admiring the river and the picturesque view of small waterfalls. The waterfalls gently splash droplets, providing relief from the heat for guests!
Little Red Hood recommends Ryugen-ta, one of these restaurants. By booking a Kaiseki cuisine set, you secure a spot on the riverbed. Guests who dine at 11:30 can even enjoy free shuttle service to and from the restaurant (departure from Kyoto Station at 10:20, return at 14:00).
