For US and Canada citizen, applicaiton for temporary visitor visa has been changed from Aug. 2022 to evisa (online application) . ERFS is required for business purpose temporary visitor. Travel purpose is limited to Package tour by travel agent. Family visit purpose is limited to the person who have special reason to meet family (spouse, child, etc). It's easy to make mistake. National tax payment certificate from National tax office is required to submity to apply Permanent residence visa now.

There are 5 types for personal national tax (Not residential tax of city hall) :

1. Withholding income tax and special reconstruction income tax
2. Declared income tax and special reconstruction income tax
3. Inheritance tax
4. Gift tax
5. Consumption tax and local consumption tax

Please tell a officer of National tax offce to put All these 5 items on the certificate and don't miss one of them.

Change visa application to Dependant (Family) visa from Designated Activity (Refugee application) visa : Approved !!

Refugee (asylum) visa is very hard to get in Japan. Only about 0.5% is now permitted. So, actually I never recommend easily for the person who come to my office to ask me to do Refugee application. But, sometimes he/she did it by him/herself with careless documents without legal professional, and that makes its position much harder...

Aftert the application done, he/she gets "Designated Activity (Regugee application)" visa for a temporary stay while examining the application, sometimes with work permission (usually a couples of years or so, but it's getting shorter these days by law).

So, for those who has the possibility to change DA(refugee application) to another (work visa, business manager visa, spouse visa, or dependant visa , etc), I can support the process to apply for Visa change process.

But of course, I will hear him/her situation in detail to confirm if it's possible to get visa changed, with true and sencere proof and attitude. This case was quite good case meeting this conditions.

I was asked the question, quite a few times, about the attendance rate of Japanese language school from Foreign student before extend his/her "student visa" . 80% is one standard he/she has to keep and pay attention for the next extension...of couse, 100 % is desirable.

Japanese language school has to, by public notice of Immigration bureau, instruct its student for improvement (if Less than 80% attendance), or report its student to immigration bureau (if Less than 50% attandance).

That may cause the next visa extention process harder. So, please pay attension to attendance rate of school...study hard !

This is the information from Immigration bureau of the special measure about CoE (certificate of eligibility).

COE (Certificate of Eligibility) expiration will be extended under COVID19 situation:
Made on 19/10/01-19/12/30, Valid until 2021/04/30
Made on 20/01/01-21/01/30, Valid until 2021/07/31
Made on 21/01/31- Present, Valid 6 months from the date

Please check "Date" on COE to confirm when is the expiration date
You have to go Japan ambassy/consulate office to get visa and come to Japan till the expiration.
