I took the guests to the Imperial Palace. This is the only one of the two opportunities in the year to see the Emperor and his family. There were so many people and it took more than two hours, but guests enjoyed the special occasion!

Happy New Year!
I took the guests to Kamakura and Yokohama. Daibutsu and Hase Temple were not so crowded. We visited Chinatown, Yamash*ta Park and Red Brick Warehouse in Yokohama. Lunch was ramen. Sunny and warm new year’s day☀️

Tokyo sightseeing on the New Year’s Eve. Tsukiji fish market was crowded and many shops sold New Year’s dishes. There was a huge offertory box in front of the main hall of Meiji Shrine preparing for the new year. Guests enjoyed the atmosphere of the year end!

I will guide Brazilian family for 4 days. Because of the year end holiday, it was crowded everywhere today. But we were lucky to see Mt Fuji from Tokyo Skytree. Guests enjoyed cultural experience; kimono and tea ceremony!

We enjoyed sightseeing in Tokyo. Meiji Jingu Shrine, Harajuku, Imperial Palace Plaza, etc. We went to a sushi train for lunch in Tsukiji where a lot of people came to buy new year’s dishes.

The family I guided in Kyoto arrived in Yokohama. After the orientation drive including Yamash*ta Park and China Town, we visited Cup Noodle Museum. We made a chicken ramen. It was an interesting experience!

I went to Hakone with American family. It was a sunny and comfortable day. We were lucky to see Mt Fuji from Owakudani. They really liked Hakone Open-air Museum and they said they could spend whole day there.

Today’s highlight was Ramen Cooking Class in Kyoto. They could experience from making dough from wheat to boiling noodles. They said it was so delicious😋

The tour with Japanese American family started. In Nara, guests enjoyed feeding deer. It was unfortunate that the pagoda of the Kofukuji Temple is covered with scaffolding. We checked-in after visiting Fushimi-Inari. There was a Christmas illumination and cosplay event at the big staircase of the Kyoto Station.

I came to Osaka by airplane. I stay at the Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport preparing for the tour starting tomorrow. There are Christmas decorations everywhere🎄

I finally went to the TeamLab Borderless in the Azabudai Hills opened in February. It is similar to the one in Odaiba which already closed, but some new attractions. I enjoyed the Bubble Universe with many hanging lamps.

I went to Yatsuhigata (tidal flat) for birdwatching. I could see and take pictures many kinds of bird such as Common Kingfisher, Gadwall, Long p-tailed Tit, etc. My best shot was Little Egret with maple leaves.

I went to take a seminar to renew the license of small ship navigator. I want to drive Zodiac boat for the cruise tour⛴️

I went to the party held by one of the travel agents near the Tokyo Tower. After the party, I walked to the nearby Azabudai Hills with guide colleagues. It was beautiful in the evening with Christmas market and illumination🎄

I went to the bird watching event held at the Tama Cemetery. I couldn’t take good pictures of birds, but I saw Hawfinch, Sparrowhawk, etc. Maple leaves there were so beautiful now!

I had a business meeting at the Cafe bar Indigo in Asakusa. After the meeting, I walked around the area in the evening for the first time in 5 years. I was surprised that Asakusa in the evening was so lively!

I went to Nikko as an instructor of the guide training. The goals were to familiarize Nikko and to learn how to lead the group. I hope everyone had a confidence to lead the group to Nikko.

We visited Kiyosumi Garden and Yasuda Garden for the guide training. I learned a lot about structures, stones and trees in these gardens. We had lunch at the beer hall in Ginza🍻
