⚠️TAX-FREE CHANGES IN JAPAN!
Starting April 2025, Japan will implement significant changes to its tax-free shopping system for foreign visitors. Here’s what to expect.
Key Changes in 2025:
1. Tax Refund After Departure
•Currently, tax-free benefits are applied immediately at the point of purchase.
•From April 2025, visitors will pay the full price (including tax) at checkout and receive a tax refund only after confirming the purchased items have been taken out of Japan.
2. No Upper Limit for Consumables
•The current upper limit of 500,000 JPY for consumable goods (e.g., food, cosmetics) will likely be removed.
•This aims to boost spending by tourists and simplify the refund process.
