Sukesan Udon is a chain of udon restaurants in the Kyushu region. Marugame Seimen is famous overseas for its udon noodles, but at Sukesan Udon the noodles are softer and the soup smoother and more refined than at Marugame Seimen. The beautiful presentation is also excellent. We ordered their signature dish, the meat and burdock udon. It is definitely delicious. We also ordered the most popular side dish, ohagi (rice balls). The soft, sticky rice cakes have a subtle saltiness that complements the sweetness of the bean paste. I could eat as many as I wanted.

We had jaja-men, one of Morioka's soul food.
We had it at Piron, a popular local restaurant.
The noodles come out soup-less, with miso paste and vegetables on top. You mix them and eat them with garlic, ginger, and other seasonings on the table to your own taste.
The final dish is an egg porridge.
Despite the appearance of the dark-colored miso, it did not have much flavor, or rather, I added a lot of salt because the overall taste was weak and the dashi broth was not effective.
I don't think I tasted much miso flavor either.
The egg soup was also not very tasty because the dashi was not very strong and the taste was not very good.
The waiter was very attentive to show me how to eat it, and I feel sorry for him, but personally, I thought it would have been better if I had experienced it once.

The restaurant is located in an alley downtown. It is a teishoku-ya that must be loved by the locals, and the atmosphere of the restaurant seems to retain the Showa period (1926-1989) and beautiful.
The menu is rich with Chinese dishes, When I ordered the leek liver set meal, I was served a large portion of leek liver, rice, and soup. Although I could not smell much of the liver, it was lightly seasoned, so I wasn't overwhelmed much when I put it in my mouth as usual. Well, it tasted like a normal teishoku-ya. It was neither bad nor particularly tasty.

I went to the first restaurant, Kakashiya, after hearing from a local, but was directed to the second restaurant because it was full of customers with reservations.
I heard that the sashimi platter was especially popular, so I ordered it. It was indeed fresh and extremely tasty.
We also ordered fried octopus and deep-fried tofu. All of the dishes were handmade, carefully prepared, and pleasing to the eye.
The restaurant was still new and clean like a ryotei (traditional Japanese restaurant).
I would like to go there again. Next time, I will make a reservation and visit the first Kakashiya.

Japan, where you can eat high-level tempura for less than $10 (1,500 yen). I have made a video of it this time, so please take a look. Tenya is a Japanese chain restaurant and can be found in relatively many places. The reason for its popularity is that it is easy to enter and the customer service is pleasant.

This okonomiyaki restaurant has been a favorite of mine since I was a child. It is thicker than regular okonomiyaki sauce, unique and delicious. I strongly recommend their yakisoba and modern yakisoba. The meat and vegetables are well-balanced, and you will be full to the brim. Moreover, it is inexpensive. The owner is not too business-minded, which is probably the reason for the excellent cost performance. It is a bit far from the station, but it is worth the walk. Note that the hours of operation are short. Whenever I go to Okayama, I always stop by here because the taste is so different from the others. To go can also be possible.

This sushi restaurant, which is not a conveyor belt sushi restaurant, is located within walking distance from Aomori Station.
The chef made the sushi in front of us and served us one by one.
I ordered the extra large portion and all the sushi was fresh and tasty, but I had the impression that the ingredients and rice were a bit small.
Personally, I particularly enjoyed the salmon.
The restaurant was clean and the waitresses and chefs were very friendly, so I felt it was worth going back.

Experience Aomori's famous nokke-don rice bowl. As soon as you enter the market, you purchase a 2,000 yen ticket and receive rice, which you take with you as you make your rounds in the market to find the items you want. This alone is a fun experience. The number of tickets required differs depending on the sushi items. The market mother puts the sushi items on the rice. All the ingredients are fresh and tasty, as they are all caught on the same day. Personally, I was a little concerned about the fishy smell of the seafood because the rice was not sushi rice.

Are you sure to leave Japan without this??
Kamba Falls offers a Ghibli-like world. When I actually visited Kamba Falls in Okayama Prefecture, I found it to be like a fantasy world where you can fully experience Japaneseness. If you are traveling to Okayama and can rent a car, it is worth a visit. You will feel a distinctly Japanese waterfall and atmosphere that is different from waterfalls in the West.

Kimuraya no pan (bread) at Okayama prefecture
Kimuraya no pan is a bakery located only in Okayama Prefecture, where the largest shopping mall in western Japan is located.
Opened in Okayama in 1919, Kimuraya's bread stores are almost exclusively in Okayama Prefecture, and the prefecture boasts the top market share and is known as "Okayama's soul food".
It is known for its "cream rolls," which are bread rolls with a slit cut in the center and butter cream with a hint of crunchy sugar sandwiched in between. The popular banana cream roll, coffee cream roll, and the uncommon bread "Takuan Salad Roll" are popular items
I bought the banana cream roll, which I have loved since I was an elementary school student, and the Takuan Salad Roll, a different kind of roll. This was the first time I tried the Takuan (pickled daikon radish) Salad Roll, and the combination of the crunchy takuan and mayonnaise with the cobbler bread was very tasty. However, I would still recommend the banana cream roll.

Ramen Asazuki
Okayama City in Okayama Prefecture is my hometown, and is one of the most Japanese cities in Japan, with Korakuen Garden, which was designated as a special place of scenic beauty in 1952 under the Law for Protection of Cultural Properties and is famous as one of the three best gardens in Japan.
Ramen Asatsuki, founded in 1948, is the oldest ramen restaurant in Okayama Prefecture and has been loved by the locals.
I have been captivated by this restaurant since I was a child.
It is one of the ramen that I would like all foreign tourists to try.
It tastes like classic pork bone soy sauce, as rich in flavor as it looks, but it is light and very easy to eat.
It has a unique flavor that is different from the typical Japanese soy sauce soup.
The noodles are thin and chewy, and are served with green onions, bamboo shoots, and chashu pork.
冈山县冈山市是我的家乡,也是日本最具日本特色的城市之一,其中的后乐园于 1952 年根据《文化财保护法》被指定为特别名胜,是日本著名的三大名园之一。
Ramen Asatsuki
