The Buttsuke give off a powerful impression!
The Kanuma Buttsuke Autumn Festival will be held in Imamiyacho, Kanuma City in Tochigi Prefecture on October 7 and 8.
This fall festival has been designated as an Important Cultural Property, and along with 33 other Japanese festivals, has been registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The highlight of the festival is a musical competition called Buttsuke, in which 3 to 7 sculpted stalls are displayed at an intersection.
This wild musical contest is the best part of the festival! Enjoy the impactful Buttsuke! It’ll be a sight you’ll never forget!
