📍Asakusa – Spending New Year's Eve in Asakusa
Asakusa is always bustling with tourists, but it has an especially large number of visitors during New Year's Eve, a celebration held on the last day of the year. The sound of a bell on New Year’s Eve rings throughout Senso-ji Temple and Kan-eiji Temple to serenely welcome the New Year. Standing in line for the first shrine visit of the year while listening to this bell, and filling yourself up at a food stall, are both enjoyable! It’s busy, but the start of the year is very exciting. Asakusa is an excellent place to spend a New Year's Eve!

📍Kitakata Ramen
As the name indicates, Kitakata ramen is a local ramen from Kitakata City in Fukushima. It is said that it is one of the 3 great ramen of Japan, along with Sapporo and Hakata ramen. This ramen is basically made with a soy sauce base, but restaurants make it with many different varieties of flavors and soups. The thickness, curliness, and firmness of the noodles also differ. Be sure to try out Kitakata ramen, which features unique curly and firm noodles in a simple soup!

📍Tokyo Downtown Excursion – Bamboo Lights
An illumination event called “Tokyo Downtown Excursion – Bamboo Lights” is currently being held between Tokyo Skytree and the Asakusa area! The Kitajukken River Terrace has been added as an event spot this year, along with the ever popular Ushijima Shrine and Sumida River Walk. Each spot is close to Asakusa and Tokyo Skytree, so stop by those places while sightseeing! This event will be held until January 31 2025.

📍Nikko – Nikko Yumoto Onsen Ski Park
Nikko Yumoto Onsen Ski Park is located in Yumoto Onsen in Nikko. Here, visitors can enjoy skiing and playing in the snow among the grand nature of Nikko National Park!
It mainly focuses on ski slopes for families, so first time skiers can use this ski park without worry. There are also 4 courses in the ski park, and visitors can use snowboards on all surfaces too. 📍Nikko – Akechidaira Observation Deck
The Akechidaira Observation Deck in Nikko is a popular tourist destination all year round! On clear winter days, you can see a large panoramic view of Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji covered in snowy scenery!
The Observation Deck takes around 3 minutes to reach by ropeway. It is a momentary trip through the air, but the scenery that you can see from the gondola’s large window is exceptional. Akechidaira Observation Deck is an excellent place to visit during your Nikko trip!

📍Ashikaga Flower Park Illumination
-Ashikaga Flower Park’s illumination is still being held!-
Ashikaga Flower Park was the sole Japanese destination on CNN’s “10 dream trips every traveler should experience” list. A large scale illumination event is held here! The second edition of this event is based on the theme of “Christmas fantasy,” and imagines what Christmas is like in the Flower Park. The winter trees are illuminated with around 5 million lights, and the park is brilliantly colored with beautiful blooming light flowers and lightbulbs. Light-up Nikko is an event that illuminates the World Heritage Nikko shrines and temples, which can be seen in the long autumn nights. World Heritage constructions such as the Nikko Toshogu Omotemon Gate and Five Story Pagoda, the Nikkozan Rinnoji Taiyuin Omotemon Gate, the Nikko Futarasan Jinja Main Hall worship hall, Shinkyo Bridge and Romon Tower Gate are all illuminated and stand out in the late night hours of autumn, and in the silence of the night produce a magical world that is quite different from Nikko in the daytime. Today we're going to introduce famous restaurants for eel, an essential part of Kawagoe cuisine! The city still has many famous historical restaurants which have their unique sauces passed down through the ages. Here we introduce two such restaurants - Unagi Hayashiya and unagi DENBE!
