On a tour last week with some lovely guests, one of our guides captured this awesome sight of so many monkeys bathing in the hot springs! 🤩

Jigokudani Yaen-koen or also famously known as the "Snow Monkey Park" is home to hundreds of monkeys who enjoy a good soak when it's cold out. They are the main event on this tour, with so many flocking to see them and their fascinating behavior. 🐒

The park's name in English is translated as "Hell Valley", and it's called this due to the steep cliffs and steam emitting from the springs. It's buried in snow for a third of the year, so you will always find some monkeys warming themselves up here.♨️

With the natural beauty of everything blanketed in snow, now is the perfect time to see them! ❄️

As the center of Kyoto is as popular and busy as ever, it fills us with joy whenever our guests get to discover and appreciate a more peaceful and quiet side of Kyoto. Ohara and Mt.Kurama are two such places that we highly recommend. On recent tours, our amazing local guides captured the natural beauty of these areas made even more magical with the autumn foliage.🍁

Ohara is a rural village a short distance from the center of Kyoto. It's surrounded by picturesque mountains on all sides and also great for appreciating historic buildings, such as the Ohara Sanzenin Temple, in the tranquility of nature. 🍃

Up on Mt. Kurama, you can find quaint temples, relaxing onsens, and hiking paths through lush green cedar forest. Mt. Kurama is also known for being the birthplace of reiki (a healing technique) and home to the tengu, 👺 creatures in Japanese folklore said to be the protectors of the natural world.

Both areas are perfect for anyone wishing to get out of the city and enjoy history and serenity in a natural setting.

It's always a pleasure to see our guests enjoying a day out in Osaka! ✨

This is one of our most popular tours for good reason. While a bustling metropolis like Tokyo, Osaka has a very different and more laid-back vibe. It's also known as the nation's kitchen, so it's perfect for foodies! It's most famous for their scrumptious takoyaki and okonomiyaki.🤤

With a local guide who knows Osaka and can cater to all types of visitors, you are sure to have a fun time exploring this anazing city!🏙️

For the first time, we had a tour on Mount Nokogiri, home of one of the largest Buddhas in Japan!⛰️

Here you can go on a leisurely hike or take a ropeway all the way to the top. The granite Daibutsu (Big Buddha) is quite a sight and so is the view below! ✨

The main lookout point on top, "Hell’s Peak" is designed to allow you to go to the edge of a rock protrusion. This may inspire a terror as if you're looking into hell, or so they say! 😨 But don't worry, steel fences surround the periphery.

The first thing most Japanese people think of when they hear the word ‘Aomori’ is ‘apples’ 🍎

During the apple harvesting season from early August to mid November, apple-picking is a popular activity for visitors to Aomori ✨️

There are farms dotted all over the prefecture where you can eat freshly picked apples on the spot, or pick them to take home for eating later 😋

This is exactly what our guests did this week! 🍎🍏

If you also want to enjoy this or similar seasonal activities in Japan, do not hesitate to contact us! ✏️

Nara is known and loved for its famous deer park and great buddha. But there is so much more to discover for those willing to venture deeper into this mountainous prefecture. 🏞️

Dorogawa Onsen is a small hot spring town at the foot of Mt. Omine, a center of worship for followers of Shugendo. The streets are lined with shops and ryokan that have been operating as far back as 400 years ago. ♨️

At the Ryusenji temple in the town, they welcome everyone who wants to do Suigyo (ritual cleansing and training in water) and even training under a waterfall!🧘🏽‍♂️

In Asuka village, you can cycle along picturesque rice terraces and find mysterious stone structures and ancient ruins scattered throughout the area. Asuka is the setting for many poems in Japan's earliest collection of poetry, the Manyoshu. 🚲

Many flock to Mt. Yoshino in spring for the thousands of cherry blossom trees creating an ethereal scenery you can only witness there. But even outside this period, it's worth a visit for the natural beauty, serene atmosphere, and rich history. 🍃
