Takachiho Gorge has a majestic columnar jointing precipice that extends for 7km (4.3mi)!🛶
Every year in November, you can enjoy the beautiful collaboration of the gorge and colorful autumn foliage. Rent a boat and go through the serene river, and you will encounter the incredible Manai Falls! Takachiho is home to multiple locations that appear in ancient myths, including Amano Yasukawara, where the famous story of Amaterasu (the goddess of the sun) allegedly took place. Gods gathered here when Amaterasu shut herself inside the cave and the world was shrouded in total darkness. You can also experience the Takachiho Kagura at Takachiho-jinja Shrine, a short-version of the all-night traditional music and dance performance.

Garden design is a revered Japanese art form that has been mastered over centuries. Though there are few more striking than Kenrokuen in Kanazawa, in fact, Kenrokuen has been titled as one of the three most beautiful gardens in the country. With tranquil ponds, beautifully pruned flower gardens and calming tea houses, you'll never want to leave. 🌼🧘

How about traveling back in time to the early 20th century Japan?⌛️
Ginzan Onsen is a beautiful hot spring resort in the mountains of Yamagata Prefecture, which looks straight out of a painting! Traditional wooden multi-story Ryokan inns are along both sides of the river and create a nostalgic and dreamy ambiance at night, illuminated by the orange gas lights.

Not just drinks! Did you know that vending machines in Japan offer hamburgers, bags of rice, and even ramen noodles?!🍜
Believe it or not, vending machines in Japan tell you a lot about the country's culture of convenience and innovation. Visit the unique Vending Machine Museum in Sagamihara to see all the vintage vending machines! In rural areas, you can still find the original analog "vending machines". The unattended produce stands employ an honor system where you take the vegetables or fruits and put the money into the coin box yourself!
