An airport in is celebrating a big milestone: it’s never lost a piece of luggage in 30 years.
Japan’s Kansai International Airport (KIX) won the Skytrax award for World’s Best Airport for Baggage Delivery 2024.
“We believe that the record of having no baggage lost since the opening of the airport is the result of the daily efforts and careful work of everyone involved, including airlines and handling companies,” the airport said.
Kansai airport, located in Osaka, first opened in 1994 and serves an estimated 20 million to 30 million passengers annually.

Walk Through the 750-Meter-Long Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel!

The highlights of the grand Kiyotsu Gorge in Tokamachi include a magnificent columnar jointed rock face and the stunning emerald green color of the powerful Kiyotsu River.

Although now a popular sightseeing spot, it was actually closed to the public in the 1990s because of avalanches and accidents caused by falling rocks due to geological instability. However, thanks to the completion of the 750-meter-long Kiyotsu Gorge Tunnel in 1996, the gorge can now be viewed safely!

The three viewing locations within the tunnel as well as the Panorama Station at the end all offer breathtaking views of the gorge. There is also the station’s fantastic art space where the beautiful surrounding scenery is mirrored in a reflecting pool.
