What as****es are running around in ITEN!!
Last night thieves entered Hotel KerioView and stole a lot of running shoes from all European runners there!!
Many of them now only have some training shoes!
If anyone of my Kenyan friends get notice about this incident - please contact me or the police!
This is not a kindly act what happened there!
I will publish this kind of behaving all over and believe me - it's not a good advertising for Kenya!

SAD SITUATION - and no light at the end of the tunnel :(

22 hotels at the coast closed since last year and now in February more than another 22 hotels will follow!
High loss in tourism! And the sad thing is that not only hotels are affected with it!
I know - many things are home-made and only a good new management may solve this problem - but it will take time.
The only thing what we read and hear in Kenya, is crying about the loss of tourism and in a few days no one is talking about it anymore.
Just remember a message the highest ranked person in the state made a few month ago about the tourists of the western world .......
"WE DON'T NEED THEM - WE ARE LOOKING FOR THE EAST"

Up to now I can't see anything that there are potential tourists from the East they may cover the loss from the WEST.

I understand the western world! Some of the so called authorities here in Kenya are treating tourists like as they want to get rid of them!
And I still love this country!

Yes - I love this country, which is often so strange and wild - and if someone wishes to get real adventures - then feel free and send me a message!
BTW - 'cause of security? - Don't worry, everybody will be save! ;)

Immer wieder eine Freude den Kindern zuzusehen wie begeistert sie die Paragleiter beobachten und darueber nachdenken - "Wieso koennen die wie Voegel fliegen"

The last section of our safari took us to the North-East of Kenya !
Starting with Lake Baringo - one of the lakes in the Great Rift Valley. Within the past two years, the water level of all the Great Rift lakes has increased considerably and no end in sight. For example, some camps near the banks no longer exist - including the famous "Camp Roberts"!
Impressive at Lake Baringo is the variety of wildlife, mostly the birds - especially the fish eagle, we were able to observe during prey capture.

The scenery and the population around Lake Baringo offers unique moments.

Next we went to Maralal - well known from the book and movie "The White Maasai"!
Nothing really special here - except the landscape.
But the journey down to the land of "SAMBURU WARRIORS" brought us unique moments.
Also, the Samburu National Park offers at lot of impressions.

In the area around Mt Kenya - with 5199 m the highest mountain in Kenya - then the weather changed and we just wanted somewhere to stay for the next day - the safari will end up in Nairobi.

The day of departure came closer and Martin and Eva wanted to catch some impressions of this steamy city on their own.

All in all it was a meeting with friends - just overwhelming for me.

Thanks again , that you've been there :D

I myself was driving back home because the next tour with an American family was waiting.

May be some of you will once get this experience to discover Kenya!

I am willing to show you the beauty and special jewels of this country - things that can't be booked in any travel agency !

This time our safari was provided with a lot of culture - but also the physical exercise should not be missed !
First destination was a village of West Pokot people who delighted us with their traditional dances .

Never in any travel agency to book - just about me !

Later we wanted to travel up to the north - to the Lake Turkana ! However, since the road was so extremely bad and also a lot of insecurity, we decided to go to Mt MTELO!
To go there isn't so simple like it looks! A spectacular driveway to the plateau awaits here one that offers unequaled opportunities.

The last milestone we decided to climb the second highest mountain of Kenya!
Mt Elgon - an extinct volcano - provoked us and we climbed brilliantly !
Who can say of itself two days before Christmas to have been 4233 m ? - Certainly not many !

WE ALREADY DID IT!

Traveling to the Masai Mara and there the most beautiful part of it, the Mara Triangle!
Friends from Austria, Martin Alber and Eva Alber, came to visit me and of course we planned unforgettable impressions of the secrets of Kenya.
We startet our safari in the Masai Mara!

Die letzten Sonnenstrahlen fuer heute beleuchten die Tugen-Hillls und bald verabschiedet sich der Tag und kehrt in ca. 12 Stunden zurueck!

Schon steht die Sonne sehr flach - bald wird Dunkelheit herrschen!
Nahe dem Aequator geht das sehr schnell - meist innerhalb von 20 min.
