(Got Nyabondo) Nyabondo plateau hike

We have an appointment with nature and we were present.
We hiked nyabondo plateau last weekend and realized that the only thing harder than the climb was figuring out how to look majestic while wheezing like a lawnmower . Who knew communing with nature could be this much of a workout?

This year’s theme, “Protecting Wetlands for Our Common Future”, reminded us of the crucial role wetlands play in sustaining biodiversity, regulating climate, and supporting livelihoods.

Our day began with tree planting at Impala Sanctuary, reinforcing our commitment to restoring green spaces. This was followed by a procession walk to Dunga Beach, where stakeholders, conservationists, and community members gathered for the event.

Key speeches from environmental organizations, Kenya Wildlife Service, government officials, and conservation champions emphasized the urgency of restoring degraded wetlands and promoting sustainable practices. A major highlight was the call for partnerships (aligned with SDG 17) to collectively work toward protecting & conserving wetland areas in Dunga and Kisumu City.

Our exclusive tour to Kakamega Forest promises an immersive journey into a world of biodiversity and rich cultural heritage. Nam-Lolwe Kayaking Excursion

We had an incredible time kayaking on Lake Victoria this past Sunday!. Starting at 9 AM, we paddled our way through the calm waters, with a pitstop at the beautiful Millimani Beach Resort.

We spotted a hippo and some fishermen at work, others were swimming.

Our clients had a blast learning about water safety and kayaking techniques.

On October 6th, 2024, Adventure EcoTrips proudly partnered with to execute "A Ride to Her Future," an inspiring bike ride from Kisumu CBD to Usoma Beach. This event was organized to raise funds and awareness for the Knit Her Future initiative, which addresses the unique challenges faced by adolescent girls and young women (AGYW) in Kisumu’s sugar belt and beach communities.

As a social enterprise, we’re committed to community involvement, and this event was a powerful testament to how cycling and wellness activities can be vehicles for social change. Through this initiative, we joined hands with local stakeholders to provide much-needed support, education, and resources to help young women thrive in their communities.

World Tourism Week 2024 – Promoting Peace Through Tourism 🌍

This past week, Kisumu hosted an incredible celebration of World Tourism Week under the theme Tourism and Peace. The event, organized by Magical Kenya under the Ministry of Tourism, reminded us all of tourism's role in fostering peace, sustainability, and community empowerment.

Here’s a snapshot of what we did:

Tree planting under the "One Tourist, One Tree" campaign.

Field visits to Ndere Island and Kit Mikayi, highlighting cultural preservation.

Youth-led panel discussions on sustainable tourism and its role in peace-building.

Boat races at Dunga Beach and a gala night attended by leaders like Her Excellency Madam Rebecca Miano and Hon. Patrick Ntutu, Governor of Narok.

It all culminated in a grand celebration at Jomo Kenyatta Sports Ground, reminding us of tourism's transformative power.
