In addition to speed, cheetahs use their sight to hunt. Unlike lions, leopards or hyenas, cheetahs see better during the day. They are able to gaze over a wide area with a 210 degrees field of view and they can see their prey up to 5km away!

If you have some time to spend in Nairobi, don't miss a visit to Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. To know more about the story of the orphanage, you can read the book "Love, Life and Elephants: An African Love Story". It's so touching and inspiring.

This is how our green season looks like. While many people avoid visiting Kenya during the rainy season, we can say that this is our favourite period. The colours are so beautiful, no crowd during the game drives and lower prices.

Happy international women's day!
Did you know that a herd of elephants is led by the oldest female known as the matriarch? She will decide where and when they move and rest, avoiding unnecessary travel while remembering when and where good ressources are available. Elephants transmit their wealth of knowledge from generation to generation through the matriarchs and this sharing of information has been beneficial to the creatures’ survival.

Leopards are solitary animals and only spend time with others to mate and to raise their young. They are exceptional climbers and enjoy taking rests in the high branches of trees during the day. They have strong necks to carry their heavy prey up into the trees. They do this so that scavengers, like hyenas, don’t snag their meal.

Lions are the most sociable of all the big cats. They live in groups called prides. Lionesses are the primary hunters of the pride. They are smaller and more agile than males and they use teamwork to bring an animal down. Female lions raise cubs together while male lions will protect the pride's cubs from danger.

Elephants are the world’s largest land animal. Male African elephants can reach 3m tall and weigh between 4,000 - 7,500kg. They spend between 12 to 18 hours eating grass, plants and fruit every single day. Elephants have a great sense of hearing and the ability to send vocalizations over long distances and detect seismic vibrations. They are highly social and intelligent creatures, and they demonstrate behaviors we humans recognize as compassion, kindness, and altruism. All of the information necessary to elephants’ survival is passed down by their elders.
