Winning GREEN CARD
Any time from next week green card winners will be notified _through_ ESC whether they have won or not.
For starters, winning green card means that you're number is now among the 100,000 numbers allowed to continue the process: continue your application and file now forms to add any additional members (if you got married/had children between the time you applied and your pre-selection) and send them to the KCC the Kentucky consular center that collects all the application and process them as “first come first served”. In fact we use the term pre-selection because out of the 100,000 candidates only half of them will be finally granted: 50,000. Also, keep in mind that the number of applications on the folder doesn’t count here. You have a family of four and the head of household apply and get picked, it counts for one, not four.
Bear with me, once you get pre-selected you receive a new number (different from the one you received once your application sumitted to the dedicated website), this number can be small or grand, depending on how many applications were picked before yours. You see the US government don’t pick 100,000 numbers at once but give them a specific order.
Anyway, if yours is closer to 0 you have more chance to get it than if your number is, let’s say, 98999.
