The Great Turk Reef Hotel - Lodwar Director Mufutu Valentino Paul, is a firm believer in collaborations and as an establishment, they paid a visit at the offices of Turkana Tour & Guide Limited to explore areas of collaboration on the upcoming Turkana Eco-Tourism Campaign that will run from 12th-20th June, 2024.
The objectives of the Eco-Tourism Campaign are to promote Turkana as a premier eco-tourism destination, implement sustainable tourism practices that protect the environment, and support the local communities through responsible tourism initiatives.
As Triplep Safaris we are calling upon all tourism stakeholders, both inside and outside, to support this noble initiative.

Lion's Courtship

- A male lion can mate up to about 100 times a day in a process that lasts only about 17 seconds. They can keep this up to around 4-5 days.

- In most cases it's usually lionesses who will approach the male of their choice

- Most lionesses reproduce by the time they are four years of age.

World Snake Day is celebrated every year on the 16th of July in order to create awareness of their importance in the ecosystem, and to spread positive messages about this often hated reptile.

Here are steps to Avoid Snake Conflict:

- If you see a snake, move away slowly

- Never follow, try to catch, or kill a snake

- Always wear shoes or boots and watch where you step.

- Use a stick to explore areas (such as holes in the ground, hollow logs or bushes) before using your hands

- Keep food and water in your home in sealed containers to discourage snakes from coming inside

- Keep inside areas rodent free by clearing food scraps

- Keep wood piles a safe distance from the house

- Keep the area around your house free from garbage, stacked items and long grass
