"We came across this cheetah hunting mid-morning and decided to spend our day following her. There wasn't much prey around and she covered vast distances in search of something to eat.

We watched her make two attempts at a kill. It was very exciting but unfortunately for her, she was unsuccessful. By late afternoon she had given up her search and went to lay on top of a small mound.

Fortunately for us, there was a ditch nearby which allowed us to get a nice low angle to photograph her from and I managed to capture this shot low angled shot of her yawning."

"We were searching for a subject to take a silhouette and I was hoping to get a male lion with beautiful sunset. After some time, he found the male lion lying on high ground. Sunset was around the corner and unfortunately the sun was under the clouds. Philip, our guide, said he would position the vehicle for an eye-level shot, we waited for few minutes and the magical moment happened."

SPAWNING LAKE NAIVASHA DAY TRIP
Spawning Nature Tours is introducing day trips to places of interest in this wonderful country of Kenya.
We shall organize a trip every second Sunday and to start us off, we are planning on visiting Lake Naivasha on Sunday, 14th September 2014.
The cost of the trip per person is Kshs 3,700.00 (three thousand seven hundred Kenya Shillings only) and the itinerary is as follows
• People meet at 09.00 on Sunday morning
• The vehicle(s) leaves for Lake Naivasha at 09.30
• Arrive at Naivasha town 11.00
• Arrange to visit various hotels culminating with a lunch in one of the hotels from 1.00pm
• Spend an easy afternoon in the hotel
• Return to Nairobi from around 5.00pm
The cost of Kshs 3,700 includes
• Transportation
• The lunch at the prescribed hotel
• Use of the swimming pool
Not included
• Drinking water
• Drinks during lunch
• Other items of a personal nature
Please note
A Kshs 1,000 deposit is required to book a seat on the bus. The Balance to be paid when boarding the bus.

With just 15 days to go before the 2013 Lewa Safaricom Marathon on 29 June, the Lewa Safari Camp team are well into the final stages of training and need your support!

The team comes from all camp departments and are united in one common goal - tackling the magnificent, but gruelling, undulating plains of Lewa to raise money for Tusk Trust. Running through the wild, for the wild, the team will be raising funds for the local community: the goal being to use wildlife conservation as a means of alleviating poverty, reducing conflict, improving education and general livelihood.

Currently the team has raised an impressive US$1900 - thanks to generous guest donations - but are still some way off the US$2300 required to enter the race. With all funds going directly to improving Kenyan livelihoods and conserving wildlife, we'd be delighted if you'd like to help us cross our 'fundraising finish line' and donate through our Just Giving page.
