The naming of a child in almost all African communities has always been considered as a very memorable celebration, one of the most important right of passage in an African Life. This practice has been extended to the very special new born Mountain Gorillas in RUANDA since 2015.
Each new born life of the Gorillas is a reason for celebration for the successful conversation effort and is annually celebrated in a colorful, melodious, unforgettable and attractive time - honored tradition at the base of Volcanoes National Park.
If the conversation has reached you but you have not reached there to be a witness of the Rwandese elegant tradition and dances, then 2017 might just be your year.
This 1st September, join us in celebrating "KITWA IZINA" (naming ceremony) taken to another level at the foot of Volcanoes National Park.

REASONS TO PUT AN AFRICAN SUN SET IN YOUR BUCKET LIST.
Africa is known for its incredibly beautiful golden sunsets. Who has not seen pictures of the open savannah plains with an acacia tree in the background and the silhouette of a lone giraffe strolling past, embraced by the warm golden glow of the setting sun.
We all have probably seen that. But how may have experienced fast hand silence, with the only sounds coming from nature, cheeky vervet monkeys playing on the river banks, hippos welcoming the evening with a chime of grunts and birds tweeting happily.
Slowly the warm golden glow stretches over the open landscape like an african bush-fire. If you have I am quite sure remember your first evening in Africa camping in the middle of nature sipping on a sundowner.

There are those animals that look harmless but in reality they are not. A Hippopotamus for example is seeing as being cuddly and tame, minding its own business in water but wait until you mess with their territory, you will be more than surprised at how ferocious they can be. Therefore the lesson of the day is do not judge an animal by its appearance. Have a lovely weekend

For all those who are bird lovers experience bird ringing which is a mega event that takes places annually at Ngulia Safari lodge in Tsavo west National park from the month of late November stretching towards early December. heard of brood parasitism? well the Cuckoo bird is known to display such behavior. it is one of the bird species that lays eggs in another bird's nest (of course when it is not around) and leaves it to do parenting on its behalf. well would we say it is too lazy to build a nest or does not want to parent?

one interesting fact about the Rhino is that it runs very fast. It can run for about 30-40 miles per hour whereas a human runs about 15 miles per hour! Therefore in an encounter with one, the wisest thing would be to climb the nearest tree because it is clear that it can out run humans.what other interesting facts have you heard about the Rhinos?

it is said that zebras are so fascinated by their stripes that a surface painted black and white stripes attracts them.Talk about being comfortable in their own hides!!
