Do you know why zebras face opposite direction when feeding?
Have a look at this.
Zebras face different directions when gathered in a group as a strategy for protection against predators. This behavior allows them to watch their surroundings more effectively. By facing in different directions, zebras maximize their field of vision, enabling the group to detect threats from all angles.

Additionally, their striped patterns create an optical illusion that confuses predators, making it difficult for them to single out an individual zebra. This combination of vigilance and visual confusion enhances their collective safety in the wild.

CYSHA Paradise is found within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, (Mt Kenya Wildlife Estate). The conservancy is packed with different wild animals and amongst them is the African wild dogs (Lycaon pictus). These animals are a significant attraction due to their endangered status, unique appearance, and social behavior. These highly social animals, also known as painted wolves, are recognizable by their multi-colored coats and large rounded ears. They live in packs dominated by a breeding pair and are known for their extraordinary hunting abilities, often coordinating in groups to hunt large prey like wildebeests.

The presence of wild dogs in Ol Pejeta began in 2011, when a pack of nine started frequenting the area. Since then, the population has grown, with two main packs roaming the conservancy. Visitors are drawn to the rare opportunity of seeing these animals, whose global population is only around 6,600 due to habitat loss and disease. The Conservancy has made efforts to create corridors for their movement and reduce conflicts with local communities, ensuring a safe environment for the wild dogs to thrive.

Ol Pejeta's conservation efforts, coupled with the natural allure of the wild dogs' speed, pack dynamics, and unique appearance, make these animals a top draw for guests seeking to experience Kenya's wildlife diversity.

Ol Pejeta Conservancy, due tot he conservancy has become a sanctuary for these animals, and conservation efforts have helped their population grow. Guests are drawn to see them because of their rarity, unique appearance, and the chance to observe their social dynamics and hunting strategies.
