Mount Kenya National Park was established to protect the distinct ecosystem around Mount Kenya. It covers a wide range of landscapes, from alpine meadows and bamboo forests to lush mountain rainforests and rugged glaciers.

The park is a sanctuary for a wide variety of wildlife and numerous bird species. Its diverse habitats make it a crucial conservation area for endemic species, as well as a paradise for trekkers, climbers and nature enthusiasts.

🌍 **6 Days Kenyan Lakes & Maasai Mara Safari, Kenya** 🌍

**Day 1: Nairobi to Lake Naivasha & Crescent Island**
Depart from Nairobi in the morning and head to **Lake Naivasha**. After lunch, take a boat ride on the lake to **Crescent Island**, where you'll walk among grazing zebras, giraffes, and gazelles while enjoying the scenic views of the lake and wildlife. In the evening, check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.

**Day 2: Lake Nakuru National Park**
After breakfast, drive to **Lake Nakuru National Park**, famous for its flamingos and rhinos. Enjoy a game drive where you can spot **rhinos**, **buffalos**, **giraffes**, and various bird species. Have lunch at your lodge and later, an afternoon game drive to see more wildlife. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

**Day 3: Lake Baringo**
Leave for **Lake Baringo**, known for its hot springs and geysers. Arrive mid-morning and explore the hot springs, which are ideal for photography. The lake is also a birdwatcher's paradise, home to fish eagle and other water birds. After lunch, enjoy a relaxing afternoon before heading to your lodge for the night.

**Day 4: Lake Baringo to Maasai Mara**
After breakfast, journey towards the world-renowned **Maasai Mara National Reserve**. Arrive in time for lunch at your camp or lodge. In the late afternoon, embark on your first **game drive** in Maasai Mara to see lions, cheetahs, elephants, and more. Return to your camp for dinner and overnight.

**Day 5: Full-Day Game Drive in Maasai Mara**
Spend the whole day exploring the **Maasai Mara** on thrilling game drives. Drive across the plains, keeping an eye out for the Big Five—**lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard**. During the migration season (July-October), you might witness the awe-inspiring **Wildebeest Migration** as they cross the Mara River. Enjoy a picnic lunch by the Mara River and continue your adventure in the reserve. Return to your camp for dinner.

**Day 6: Maasai Village Visit & Return to Nairobi**
After breakfast, visit a **Maasai village** to learn about their rich culture, traditions, and way of life. Take a guided tour of their homesteads, interact with locals, and see traditional dances. Afterwards, drive back to Nairobi, arriving late afternoon to conclude your safari.

Nakuru city has been designated to be a member of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization(UNESCO) Creative City Network.

The City has been named after a successful application to be the Crafts and Fork Arts city in Kenya.

Nakuru City was named among the 49 new cities to join the UNESCO Creative Cities Network.

The membership to the network will not only help Nakuru City to be visible to the rest of the world but will also help raise the bar of the quality of the county’s artistic programs.

Further,will help express the county's cultural identity by conveying shared community values.

This will further facilitate and enhance artists’ mobility and movement of cultural goods and services hence empowering artists in the city.

The County Government of Nakuru has continually supported culture and creativity through the construction of facilities like Cultural centers and integrated youth resource centers.

Provision of creative platforms which provide safe spaces for artists to incubate their ideas using culture and arts to conceptualize and mold innovations.

The administration is further committed to harness the potential of the art sector to adequately contribute to the County’s revenue and increase income to art practitioners through cultural tourism.
