One of Kenya's hidden places. It's a strangely beautiful thing to walk among herds of zebras, antelopes and past a giraffe or two reaching for some leaves.....in the wild.

Coming across a giraffe is both quite humbling and totally awing. Their sheer size is enough to intimidate, if not for their serene nature.

If you come across one and its patches have a darker centre, giving their pelt a tie and dye 'look' you have met the Rothschild giraffe. If it looks like they're also wearing white socks going up to around the knees you have a winner!

Meet the Masai giraffe and the Reticulated giraffe and you have met the three giraffe subspecies found in Kenya.

Meet the Plains zebra (aka Common zebra or Burchell's zebra) whose stripes meet in a V shape halfway across the belly. Even science is struggling to understand the purpose of the seemingly simple design that's the zebra's stripes; nature's flaunt.

The Nakuru National Park (where these images were captured) is one of their homes in Kenya. We'd love to show you around their nooks.
