In partnership with and .netkenya we are temporarily relocating to Borana Race Village on Thursday this week (13th) to set up our mobile Bike repair and Service centre. We will also have a small shop with essentials to get you round the and a bike wash service to make you pride and joy sparkly and clean again. Don’t delay if you need something; come and see us to avoid that last minute rush on race day 🫵

Located in our tented camp, at the edge of the spectacular Ndare Ngare Forest, our team continue on our collaborative journey in the delivery of adventurous, challenging outdoor activities. Our mountain team have just returned from another successful expedition to Point Lenana (4985) at the top of Mt Kenya with the Sandville Self Help Foundation, as part of their Charity Challenge to raise vital funds for their organisation in North Wales. We are exceptionally pleased and proud to have been able to plan, organise and deliver this journey in our first collaboration with the Ultimate Travel Company.
Using the quieter Wangu route, just north of Timau, we embarked across the sweeping West Marania plateau to a high camp at Simba Tarn over three days. Three nights of camping under clear, cold skies was a unique experience for the group of seven ably supported by our expedition doctor. Our interaction with wildlife was second to none observing Elan, Zebra and even a pair of Buffalo at 4200m at Majors Campsite wondering across the ridgeline.
After a 3am wake up call; summit day did not disappoint. Mutual support, singing (the team boasted much musical and vocal talent) and many displays of courage and resilience were in order as the group reached the summit after a long, cold climb. As we summited we were greeted with clear weather and panoramic views as the sun in her typical dramatic fashion rose to meet the ecstatic, emotional team emphasising the sheer commitment and effort to support their organisation.
Human spirit at its boldest, rawest and most vulnerable initiated by adventure, challenge and exploration into an individual’s hidden depths. A privilege to experience and be part of ‘Asante sana’ to all of the amazing team from Sandville who made this expedition an absolute pleasure from all the staff at Rift Valley Adventures.
