Such a wonderful sound. The roar of a lion always makes us stop what we are doing and pause to listen.
Come and share moments like this with us.

One of Kenya's most iconic birds! This little chap has been kept furiously busy since the 10th of December last year when he holed his wife up in their nest by the pool at Reteti House.
We are all looking forward to meeting the kids, any day now ...........

For all the old farmers out there!
Finding these wonderful machines of yesteryear give us such a thrill, it is incredible how they evoke such a barrage of memories.
Some of the old machines you owned and used are probably lying in a forgotten corner just waiting to be recognised.
Contact us at When-We Safaris if you feel the urge to come and revisit some old East Africa haunts.

Not sure about you but the campfire is one of our most significant memory joggers. Be it in the bush surrounded by the night calls of the owls and hyena, or outside the kitchen where the gentle chatter of the cook and the comforting smell of hot ugali waft across the lawn the mesmerising dancing flames and occasional pop ad crackle never fail to evoke wispy dreams of fires gone by and those to come.
We would love to share your campfire memories and maybe even take you back to an old loved campfire spot.

We are super excited to introduce When-We Safaris.
The brain child of Neil Outram.
Born in Eldoret and was brought up in Nandi Hills, as the youngest son of Syd and Peggy Outram.
A student at the Hill School in Eldoret (1950's) and Prince Of Wales School (1960's).
Neil has lived his entire life in East Africa and as many are is a 'jack of all trades'. A short summary of his bio would read something like this-
Late 1960's Worked in the coffee farming areas around Makuyu, Thika, Ruiru and Kiambu, and Nanyuki as a vetinary chemicals rep covering large swathes of Kenya.
In the early 1980's lived near Mombasa and worked up and down the Kenya coast. Farming ground nuts, rubber and chickens amongst others!
Early 1990's to date worked in the tourism industry, as a guide and operating luxury mobile camping safaris. in those years he covered Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, and later lived in Arusha for over 20 years.
Neil has a wealth of experience in agriculture and tourism and extensive knowledge and contacts throughout East Africa.
He currently spends his time between Karen, in Nairobi, and Kajiado, some 100 kms south of the city, in some of the most beautiful country in Kenya.
Who better qualified and situated to plan, organise, and accompany you on a return to the 'old stamping grounds' which is probably well overdue.
