Today, the Kenya Wildlife Service team, led by Board Chairman Lt. Gen. (Rtd.) Walter Raria Koipaton and Director General Dr. Erustus Kanga, joined the Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Dr. Alfred Mutua , Taita Taveta Governor H.E. Andrew Mwadime, Tourism Principal Secretary John Olotuaa, SAGA CEOs from the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife - Kenya, and the community in Lumo Community Wildlife Conservancy in Tsavo Conservation Area , Taita Taveta County for !

During the event, 28,000 trees were planted within the conservancy . Trees play a crucial role in mitigating flooding by stabilizing soil, preventing erosion, and absorbing excess rainwater, thus protecting the ecosystem from flooding and mitigating climate change effects in protected areas.

KWS is committed to the and our goal is to grow by 2030. We call upon all stakeholders to join us in nurturing Kenya's protected areas.

Mzima springs is one of Tsavo West's most popular wildlife attractions owing to its resident populations of hippos and Nile crocodiles. The hippos also sustain an entire food chain. They browse the surrounding savannah by night and return to Mzima's pools by day, where their dung fertilizes the water. Fruiting trees such as dates and raffia palms, wild berries and figs grow beside the water. Come and enjoy this incredible attraction during your next visit.

The KWS Rangers recruitment process in Voi County was a huge success. The turnout was quite huge, but we managed to get the successful candidates who will join other candidates from other counties for a 6 month training at KWS Law Enforcement Academy in Manyani. Congratulations to all the successful candidates.

Vacancies Announcement!

The overall mandate of Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) is to conserve and manage National Parks, Sanctuaries and wildlife in the Country and enforce related Laws and Regulations. The Service operates in remote environment and seeks to recruit 1,500 young and dynamic individuals as Cadets (Assistant Warden I) - 150 and Rangers – 1,350 who can endure the condition for training and deployment to various conservation areas in response to the wildlife protection challenges currently being experienced in the country.

On 1st March 2024, the Tsavo Conservation Area (TCA) team participated in a cleaning exercise at Mtito Andei market. Stakeholders involved included Tsavo trust, Team Tsavo, Zoological society of London(ZSL), Hotels like Kilaguni Serena, Finch Hattons, Ngulia Lodge and local leaders and the community. These were among the planned activities in the region as we celebrate World Wildlife
Day. The WWD is celebrated annually on 3rd March.
