Next Port Up: Corfu!
Corfu is a beautiful small island in Greece. We opted not to do a shore excursion and instead wanted to wander on our own. Originally we planned to head to a beach but with the rainy weather in the forecast we opted against that plan. We hailed a cab and headed to old town instead!
•Old Town was a super cute area of tons of restaurants, shops, and alley ways to get lost in!
•We headed through there quickly when we arrived to head to the old Fortress to go explore and climb for beautiful views!
•The old fortress offers a beautiful view of the town, the sea, and the rest of Corfu and parts of Greece.
•It is a hike to the top but worth it! Get here early because when we left there was a ton of people waiting to get into the fortress and buy tickets
•We went back through old town on our way to find somewhere to eat, it was definitely way busier so I’m glad we got to walk through it before we went to the fortress when it was still empty
•We ate at a nice little Greek restaurant near the entrance of old town. It was perfect as we were the only ones dining outside in the tent (probably because a rain shower hit!) and a cat decided to come join us!
•We then hailed a cab back to the port and hopped on board before the rain really started coming down
•Overall, I wish we had a little more time to explore and we probably would have if there wasn’t a chance of rain we were dodging. I’m glad we got to see this small town before we head off to Athens (which I’m excited for!)
