ACTIVITIES WHEN YOU VISIT NYERI COUNTY.

1. Where to stay? Stay Miriam Inn, Chaka Charity begins at home. 😉😉Where comfort meets affordability. Cost on Bed only per night: 1 person-1,500; Couple-2,000; family of four-5,500.
2. Go for a hike and enjoy wildlife and nature at the Aberdares National park KWS Aberdare National Park It’s a 25 minute drive to the gate entrance. Fees: Adults-300; Child-215; Small vehicle-300. All payments via eCitizen. You can get a park ranger to be your guide in your car at 1,720 for 4 hours. Pay for the ranger when you get to gate.
3. Visit Mau Mau Caves under Kenya Forest Service. Entrance is in Naromoru at Bantu Lodge only 25 minute drive from Chaka Town. Get ready for a beautiful 9km walk to the caves and waterfalls. Fees: Adults-232; Child-58. Ranger available for a fee.
4. Hike down to Zaina Falls in Ihururu. Prepare for a steep hike down to view this magnificent beauty at the foot of the Aberdares. It’s a 35 minute drive from Chaka. Fees: Adults-232; Child-58. Ranger available for a fee.
5. Drive 15 minutes from Chaka to Nyeri Town and visit the The Nyeri Museum which was initially built as natives people court in 1924. On same day, double up and visit the Baden-Powell Scouting Information Center and Museum also in Nyeri Town. Both Museums are free 😃
6. Do a self-drive safari inside Olpajeta Conservancy See all big 5 and other wild animals. While there, also visit their chimpanzee Santuary. It’s an hour drive from Chaka Town. Fees: Small Vehicle-1,000; Adults-2,000; Child-1,000. Gate fee includes the entrance to the Chimpanzee Sanctuary. The Sanctuary opens from 8:30am-12noon then again from 2pm-4:30pm.
7. Spend the day Chaka Ranch. Only a few km from the Chaka Town, it’s an excellent place both adult and children activities. From water park to outdoor thrills such as go karts, paint ball, kids play park, quad bikes etc. Entry to the ranch is free, you pay per activity. For this visit, tayarisha mifuko 😉.
8. Nyeri War Cemetery. It is a somber reminder of the price of war and a good history lesson for both adults and kids. It’s less than 10 minutes from Chaka Town next to Kagumo High School. Open M-F 9am-6pm. Entry is Free! 😃
9. Take a 25 minute drive from Chaka to Mathari and visit the Italian Memorial Church Beautiful architecture and history lesson. Entry is free! 😃
10. Others— Hike up Nyeri Hill and enjoy the views and a picnic☺️; Visit Chinga dam and falls; Visit Wajee Nature Park; Hike Tumu Tumu Hills.
